Area: This area is the same area where Kermit Roosevelt talked about in his book "East of the Sun West of the Moon" and where he shot a world record Ibex. The area is still good for big Ibex and over the years Renaud"s (the outfitters) European clients have shot quite a few Ibex around and over 50". The reason is that the lower slopes of this mountain range have vegetation where Ibex can hole up in the harsh winters and thus have good food year around and grow old. The area does not have a large density of Ibex and this hunt should be taken by hunters who are want to shoot and are willing to look for a big Ibex.

Our other area in Kazkakstan has a huge density of Ibex and is an easy hunt, which is far more suitable for hunters looking for a relatively easy Ibex hunt. Here you can expect trophies in the 38-40" range.

Accomodation: This hunt is done on horseback from tents or local village accomodation.

Cost: $8,800 including one Ibex any size. Second Ibex $2,900, Siberian roe deer: $1,800, wolf $1,800

Season: Mid August to end December.

7 full days of hunting. Hunters will be met in Almaty.

In conjunction with a travel agent we can arrange your air tickets and hotel booking in Turkey and Almaty.

Arjun what are the chances of taking a trophy in this area, and what size could you realistically expect.
I must admit I am in England and would therefore book direct with Renaud...

SWS, As posted this is an area that has very big Ibex but not a huge density. It is a tough area to hunt as well. So hunters going on this hunt must be willing to put in their time and be patient. Past clients have shot 50"+ Ibex here. Renaud will be able to answer all your questions. Just let him know that we chatted online.

Cheers

Arjun
