Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Use Enough GunThere are some very good prices.
Too bad that U.S. hunters are shut out as of now. No tigers to see in South Africa that I am aware of, however, so don't get the kids too excited!

Use Enough GunVery interesting LDK. In all of my trips to South Africa I've never been to any place that was raising tigers. Beautiful cats! I'm aware of white tigers, bengal tigers, African lions, etc. etc. etc. here in Vegas with one of our residents having them just a mile away. Sigfried and Roy. Interesting story: I was hunting doves with one of my sons in an agricultural area of Pahrump, Nevada, about 60 miles west of Vegas one fall afternoon when I heard the distinct sound of an African Lion roaring. I thought that I was hearing things, but in any event we quickly walked back to the truck and then drove down the road a bit. Not far from us, and unbeknownst to me, was a large cat sanctuary that had leopards, lions and tigers. Hearing a lion roar close by and only holding a shotgun with light loads in heavy mesquite, gets your attention!

L. David KeithA lot of the outfits that raised Lion's in the beginning began to add other large predators to their properties. More of a novelty, and tourists and hunters seemed to enjoy seeing them. Cost a lot to feed them and maintain their captivity but they generally have a large area to live in, much greater that any zoo.

Good for them.

scruffyIn 1980 I was in Nico van Rooyen's (sp?) taxidermy shop looking at a full mount of two lions and a tiger. The big maned lion was 'canned' the sparse maned one was not ... and they told me that the tiger cost the hunter $7,000. Many years later a chap told me the story of the tiger hunt but sadly I have forgotten the details from that 18 year old conversation.
They are bloody magnificent!
