Coues Outfitters as a few spots left in camp for our January 2018 fully-guided whitetail hunts in Sonora, Mexico. The ranches that we manage are located near Banamichi, Sonora, an easy 4.5 hour drive from the border. The ranches are between 30 and 50 square miles in area. We limit the number of deer hunters on each ranch to no more than 12 each year and we never hunt more than 6 hunters at one time. Whitetail hunts are 5 days and 6 nights in duration. In addition to rifle hunts we routinely accommodate archery hunters utilizing ground blinds that we stage prior to your arrival. Unlimited varmint hunting for coyote, grey fox, and bobcat is also available at no additional cost.

Rustic ranch house accommodations are provided with beds, bathroom, and a hot shower. Meals are traditional Mexican with lots of fresh made tortillas. Our staff will obtain your hunting licenses, tags, gun permits and US Customs & US Fish and Wildlife documentation to import your trophies back to the States. While hunting on the ranch we utilize and maintain off road vehicles including a Yamaha Rhino 660, Honda Pioneer 1000, Polaris Ranger and a Jeep Rubicon.

Coues Whitetail Deer Hunts include:
-Transportation to and from the ranch originating in Tucson (or you can bring your own truck)
-Lodging
-Meals
-Beverages (alcoholic drinks not provided but you can bring your own)
-Mexican hunting licenses, deer tags and gun permits
-Field preparation of meat and trophies
-Trophy importation paper for US
-Use of our rifles if prior arrangements have been made
-Clients are responsible for: Transportation to Tucson, sleeping bag, bath towel, and personal items (soap, shampoo, etc).

To fill up the last spots in camp this year, we are offering our 1x1 guided hunt to AR Members for just $3,500. The normal price is $4,000.

Most of our hunts are traditional Coues spot and stalk, but if conditions require there are 20+ water tanks on the ranch to sit.

Dates with available spots in camp (as of this writing):
January 2-8, 2018
January 12-18, 2018
January 22-28, 2018

This is a hunt I'd like to do. What is the average size of bucks taken on these hunts?

Yes, please let us know what types of bucks are coming off of your properties. That will be helpful in making decisions.

Average score the last couple of years has been around 105. We had a hunter last year who got excited and shot the first buck he saw before we could tell him to wait. While it brought the average down, the hunter was happy and that's probably most important, right?

If anybody knows a common mistake made when trying to upload photos (tried Imgur last time and failed) maybe we can get that figured out.

Meanwhile, we have some recent pictures posted here: http://www.couesoutfitters.com/gallery.html

Some of the trail cam pics from a month or two ago. They still had some growing to do at that point.

Thanks for your support, AR! We are down to one spot left in camp; January 2-8, 2018. Ring in the new year right, by hunting!

Here are a few more recent trail cam pics. Those summer rains have really paid off.

I booked one of the spots for Jan 12-18 and just returned from this hunt. It was as advertised and a good trip.
The food was excellent, the ranch house was basic, but what you should expect in most of Mexico. The guides were excellent, and the deer population was strong. It was impossible to keep count, but I saw 20-25 bucks a day, with typically 3-5 over 100 inches. I was being particularly selective, holding out for a 110"+ buck, and saw at least three bucks exceeding that number. A 100" deer would have been easy, but the 120" bucks aren't common, anywhere.

In the end, I missed an incredibly easy shot at a 115+ buck, who had no idea I was in the country. Nobody's fault but my own, and really no good explanation. I just blew it. The guides were good about it, and tried hard not to make me feel bad, but I will beat myself up for a while knowing how good a buck I should have had. But that's hunting, as hard as it is to accept.

Mark and Bobby are very experienced Coues deer hunters, a pleasure to hunt with, and did what they promised. The drive is long, the border crossing incredibly easy, just tedious (as are all government operations these days), but really a non-issue. I will be returning again, and see no need to look elsewhere. Coues Outfitters is class act, and I look forward to hunting with them again.
