There are usually a few good deals put out on here annually for the 4 diff varieties of the Spanish ibex. There have been none in a good while now.

Any Spanish operators have anything to off for this fall? I am interested.

Feel free to post here or PM me.

Thanks

Hello Scotty boy.
Let me know what are you searching for, I can help you with the Gredos type Ibex (the most demanded and valued trophy)
I can arrange a hunt of this trophy for you in the State Land, you have to pay an initial fee, and, after the hunt, a final fee depending on the animal size.
Let me know what kind of animal are you searching for (size) and I will let you know some prices.

Best regards

Scott,
Just got back from a great hunt in the Valencia/Castellon area for Beceite Ibex near the town of Mora de Rubielos. I hunted with Caza Hispanica... http://machomontes.cazahispanica.com/?IDIOMA=en

I did the 5 day trip with an extra two days in Madrid before the hunt. Took the wife and we both enjoyed the scenery, history and customs of the country. The package included a nonmedal ibex but you can upgrade. I shot a bronze and gold ibex. It was a wonderful experience and hunt! If you shoot an additional ibex be sure you understand the CIC scoring method as the dollars can add up quickly. PM me if you have any questions.

Scotty:

I took all 4 with Espacaza. I would highly recommend them.

For me, the easiest was the Becite. It involved a climb of about 15 minutes. The most difficult was the Southeastern. Both the climb and the weather were brutal.

That website is difficult to navigate. Where is the information on Spain or ibex hunting on it?

The website can take awhile to load, especially if you have a slower pc. The easiest thing to do may be to go to the contact info page and shoot an e-mail to Vincente Gil who owns Caza Hispanica. He can price several options for you for the upcoming season. You can easily get your ibex in 3 days... you may want to add more days if taking an observer and you plan on sightseeing.

The beauty of the trip to me was a fair price on our package that included a nonmedal ibex, and all meals and hotels. Very seamless and very well done.

And zhaba, I feel your pain on the VAT at 21%!

For many operators in Spain no problem to get only small deposit with VAT, rest of money by cash after arriving client . I have paid there several times like this.

Thanks for the info guys..
Bwanna, that is a BEAUTIFUL billy! I can smell him from here! Congrats on the great goat.

Reason I ask about these Spanish hunts is that Espicaza has donated full daily rates for 3 days, plus rates for a non hunter for the same time, to our SCI dinner. I was thinking about buying it (I know it won't go for much at our banquet).

I know these Beceite and Gredos goats go on a sliding scale. But I have heard that the SE and Rhonda ibex can be hunted where you can hunt the biggest billies for the same price as the "non Metal" goats. Does anyone have any info on these hunts?

Thanks for all the info, guys.

You are right. In some places you can take Ronda or SE and pay same price for any kind of trophies. But is not so easy to get trophy Bronze medal and more for Ronda and SE, for that place special. I think need expect Bronze maximum for that offer. I took all of them and for my opinion for first trip there Gredos is the best. Very spectacular area and great trophy.

GDF

thank you very much for your advise. It is good hearing from folks who have done these hunts before.
I was curious about the Rhonda and SE hunts. I was suspecting that was the case. No "real" chance of scoring a true gold metal billy on those hunts.

For medal trophy SE and Ronda rut time is the best. These smaller ibexes look not so great like Gredos and Becete but hunting often more chellenging and mountains litle bit more steep.

I'm looking at the same hunt with our Spanish operator this year and they advised the same, that we should go for the two gredos and becite for a week long hunt at the first instance then hunt a different time of year for the other two.

The also said that best times of the year do not really coincide exactly.
