Discounted moose hunting package available for immediate purchase in northern Maine during peak rut! Moose densities are very high and expect good opportunities at bulls with rack widths in the middle 40s" to middle 50s", larger bulls are possible. In 2018 WMD 1 had the highest success rate of all the WMDs in Maine with an 87% success rate on bulls, guided or unguided! Click here for the Maine 2018 moose harvest report Hunt with bow, muzzle loader or rifle. Being peak rut, bulls are very susceptible to being called into very close range with most animals taken between 25 & 50 yards. Our approach is calling and spot n stalk. If need be, we’ll adjust the hunt based on your physical limitations and desire by shortening the distance we travel on foot. Note: This is not a road hunt, we quarter and pack out all of our moose. Hunting dates are September 23-28, 2019

A nonresident Maine moose hunting permit is a hard thing to come by. In 2018, the nonresident odds of 1 chance winning a permit in the lottery were 1:1217 and that is if the applicant was willing to accept any available permit, antler-less, bull, season, & location. 73% of all Maine moose hunters harvested a moose in 2018. Nonresidents have enjoyed a success rate as high as 99% in recent years attributed to the fact most hire the services of a guide. Dave has personally guided over 30 moose hunts with a 97% success rate.

Mt Chase Lodge has hired full time guide and outfitter Dave Conley to bring you this remote hunt. You’ll stay in a comfortable drive to tent camp located in the heart of prime moose hunting country well away from any towns. The main shelter serves as a community area for meals. Private sleep tents for your party of 1-3 persons are spacious 12' x 12' Cabela's Alaknak Ultimate Outfitter tents complete with heavy duty cots, sleeping pads, carpet flooring and wood stove. Sturdy outhouse cleaned daily and showers available with hot water on demand. NOTE: A Maine hunt is a whole lot easier to plan for, get to, and much easier getting your meat out of the bush and back home verses a remote fly in hunt.

Hunting package was $15,000.00 (NOW $12,000.00) and includes:
• 2 shooters, one moose (permittee and sub-permittee)
• 6-day hunt
• Private land owner access fees into the North Maine Woods

• If you choose to use a local butcher to cut up your meat, $500.00

Folks,

Dave is my ex BIL, a full time Maine Guide, woodsman and a great person. You will get a bull on this hunt and perhaps a very nice one. 50"+ is not unusual at all. Considering these hunts have gone for $20,000 this is a bargain.

Can you kindly explain how this works? Is this one moose for two hunters? Wouldn't that just be like one hunter and an observer? In the one picture it looks like two guys standing side by side are both going to shoot the same moose.

In Maine, the permit holder can nominate a backup hunter to shoot as well but the permit holder must be present. One moose on a tag.

This system actually works out nicely. If for instance a wife or girlfriend draws a permit but is not really interested in shooting a moose she can let her husband or boyfriend do the shooting. Their are any number of scenarios where this system can let folks share what is a special experience.

I do not know Dave Conley other than by his good reputation as a trophy moose guide, and he’s from the same area where I live. Never heard a bad thing about him. This strikes me has an excellent offer. Zone 1 in Maine holds an excellent trophy resource. In comparison, the top bid for a 2019 Maine Moose Permit Auction was around $20,000. Just for the tag, add guide services, food, and lodging to that. Just go back and look at Dave’s photos if you are on the fence about this.

Mark,

I never thought of it like that. Good use of words.

For most guys if your wife doesn't hunt, it give you an increased capability to draw a tag. Or if you have taken quite a few moose before, it gives you an opportunity to give a moose tag to a daughter, spouse, or son.

You are right that is a good deal.
