Limpopo Big Game SafarisBuffalo hunt Mozambique
Good day Member
I am excited to announce our concession area in Mozambique. I have been working on this area for quite a while now.
This historical area that was once the hunting grounds of legends is getting back to what it used to be several years ago.
Once called Safari Landia Mozambique, also known as Zinave, where the legendary Rui Quadros, Wally Johnson and well known figures like Fred Bear, Jim Dougherty and Robert Ruark hunted years ago.
We are in the process of bringing this majestic area back to what it used to be and hope to make it better than before.
There is currently an estimated 600 buffalo on the concession that may be hunted, other species like Sable, Kudu, Bushbuck, Bushpig and several other game species are also available in limited numbers.
With no alternative funds to improve the area we have decided to put 10 Buffalo bulls out for the year 2025 and 2026 to be hunted.
Old buffalo cows and some plains game can be hunted on a limited quota.

CanadianLeftyExcuse my (likely) dumb questions:
1. Is this in an area that has terrorist risk?
2. Why is this area improving? Was it a war zone or land mines or just poached and over hunted?
3. What variety of sable and bushbuck and length of horn is likely?
Thank you. Feel free to PM me.

Good day CanadianLefty
Thank you for the inquiry.
1. No terrorists in my area.
2. The area is improving because I am putting in a lot of time and effort to keep the animals safe from poachers. Water wells have been drilled, Anti poaching have been appointed etc.
3. Sable is Roosevelt Sable - I assume the Bushbuck are Chobe Bushbuck, but once we have the 1st one down I will send samples for DMA verification.

K EvansBossie, could you tell us what area this hunt would take place and which airport one would fly in to? Just finished a hunt in Coutada 11, no security concerns at all. Thanks.

Good day K Evans
The area is classified as a Fazenda / Private farm or Property.
We are North of the Save river in the Sofala province.
You have to fly to JHB, then to Vilankulos with Airlink where we will meet. From there is is 3.5 hours north to the Save river where the hunt will start.
We have no issues with security or unrests.

Bad sign this.
Quick reply means he is not hunting!
Otherwise one waits for days for an answer!

Said, you never fail to surprise me, I would have never thought you were that smart to figure it out.
You are absolutely right, I am home at last with no hunters in camp till Tuesday, so now I get to chit chat with you to...

It has been a quite event full season so far with some great trophies bagged over time.
Here is the link to see what we have been up to.

GunsCoreThanks for having a LH bolt action rifle to use for only $ 50 a day and ammo at cost. The last place in Moz I went charged $ 150 a day for rifle rental with only RH's available and $ 15 a round. I bitched about the $ 150 a day rifle rental so managed to get it reduced to only $ 75 a day. Good luck with this area and I will stay in touch.

As a RH shooter I would have never bought a LH rifle, but I bought the 375Ruger for my tracker who has been struggling with the RH 375H&H.
So in the end it all worked out fine.
Although guns and ammo cost a lot of money, not to talk about the importations etc. but $150 a day is a ripoff.

I did not think you would tip at all, even if the gun hire was free....

bwanamrmGentlemen,
I hunted with Bossie earlier this year to finish out my Big 5 and can tell you he is an excellent outfitter and a straight shooter. I saw some of the pictures of this area ( I can't remember if he had secured it when I was there) but it looks like an interesting exploratory hunt... would seriously consider it but I am booked up this year and most of next.

Safari2Question...this area must be in the old Coutada's 4 and 5?
Does the area adjoin Zinave?

Good day Safari2
We are a little bit North of Coutada 5. Our land is not a Coutada, we fall under a Fazenda / Private property.

Safari2Thanks, I did not know there were any buffalo there. The Zinave Sanctuary has about 800 or so. North of C5 is a pretty good clip from Zinave.
Very much looking forward to reports!
