Getting there: Best route is via Copenhagen on Air Greenland. You will need to spend a night in Copenhagen both ways.

The weather can be as low as minus 20, but its really not that bad if you dress in layers. The seal skin clothing they rent is also very warm. This is not a physically demanding hunt, I have had 70 year old clients do this hunt. A Musk ox is not a wiley animal to hunt, but being in the Arctic, seeing the beginning of the Polar Ice cap, the Northern lights and coming home with a very unique trophy is amongst my greatest hunting memories. You stay in a nice cozy warm cabin and hunt from ATVs so its very comfortable.

Most hunters just hire a rifle as it's mostly a one shot hunt. But taking a rifle is also possible. You can also hunt with a bow. Also a number of clients have also made a vacation of this trip with a few days spent in Copenhagen after their hunt. Its a nice city worth spending a few days in and everyone speaks English.
