Map of hunting area: In NORTH Cameroun, we hunt in two differents blocks. West blocks to the west of Road (South to North) Ngaoundere to Garoua; We call that region FARO (name of the main river and name of the National Park)
East blocks to the east of the same raod; We call that region BENOUE (name of the river and name of the National Park). Where you will hunt will depend upon the available quotas at the time. Our main camp is on the BENOUE river near Taboum south of TCHOLIRE. To reach that camp, its 2 hours on a good road from GAROUA to entrance of Benoue National Parc. Then 1 hour to cross the parc on a good dirt road
then we across the Benoue and 2 more hours on not so good dirt road.

We also offer hunts for Lord Derby's Eland, Roan, Lion and Elephant (not importable into the states) if anyone is interested.

So there's no way to shoot more animals than just four? because looking at the list I'm interested in like 6 and would hate to go all that way and not be able to get the extra 2...whats the deal on that?

Buy two licenses and shoot eight?

FYI: When I was in Cameroon (and granted it was not with this outfitter) for 15 days, I was able to shoot seven of ten PG species PLUS buffalo.

Based on what I experienced, shooting six pre-picked species in six hunting days would be a feat. I wanted bushbuck and waterbuck and did not come really close to either in 15 days. I think the realistic PG program in Cameroon is to go into it with an open mind and shoot the good trophies of what you see until you shoot out your license or run out of time.

Interesting option for somebody who wants to experience Cameroon. A few questions that will help all I think, if you don't mind:

- How does one get to Garoua?

- Any estimate of the cost of shipping trophies to Paris? And has this company shipped to the States recently?

- A description of the weather from now (at/about the end of the "cooler" season in Northern Cameroon) thru June would be helpful.

Bill,

You would typically fly from Paris to Douala and then to Garoua. Depending on flight schedules one might have to overnight in both places.

To export 4 Plainsgame trophies to Paris you are looking at roughly 400 euros. Includes: Official C.I.T.E.S documents. Certificate of origin, sanitary and tax certificates, Cameroonian Customs and Packaging and forwarding of the trophies to Paris by air. Most of the clients tend to be europeans, I will check if they have shipped trophies to the States recently.

The weather today in Garoua is 106F. The rains come sometime in April but one can still hunt until the big rains when the hunting becomes more difficult also due to the high grass. If you are planning ahead best time is December to March.

let me know if you have any other Qs.

Thanks,

Arjun
