How far is your hunting area from your brother Danie's ranch? I hunted there in 2012 and 2013 with Jan du Plessis, and shot some outstanding trophies, especially springbok and black wildebeest.

.
Most of the time I read / browse the Offered & Discounted Hunts and move on without comment. But on the offer - titled Great Special Not to Let Go - I see that it is quoted as one price at USD 4.950,- for 10 days and 4 trophies.

If I try to break this down to understand it better - and my numbers may well be wrong - but I guess I am looking at something like

750 Gemsbok
450 Springbok
650 Red Hartebeest
400 Warty

2.250 Trophies
2 x travel days at say 175 = 350

which leaves 8 days at USD 300,- per day which to me seems pretty much a standard rack rate.

I am sorry but I dont get the 'Great Special Not to Let Go' aspect of the offer - or am I missing something here.

And guys I assure you I am not trying to tread on toes or anything - I am just trying to break this down into a simple transparent structure for my understanding.

Cheers

.

That is exactly what you have. It's easy to understand the offer and IMO
it is a good price.

Charlie,

please visit their website you will see their offered packages and this is a better deal than the daily or trophy fees.

personally im not interested in an outfitter that is charging trophy by size but that is just me.

I see nothing wrong with your question. I think anyone in evaulating a safari price is well advised to break things down and compare prices.

I am seeing some daily rates of $400 but even if we use your $300 figure, that's $2400 + $350 + $2250 = $5,000. But I also think you are a bit low on current trophy fees for Namibia.

The main thing I see is that you are likely to have 4 days with nothing to do and will probably wind up adding animals. I'm sure that was the plan. Smiler
