$1,250.00 Buffalo tag fee
$ 600.00 Dip and pack fee from hunting area to Life Form Taxidermy in South Africa

The area:

Although this is a communial area, there are a very good and healthy population of Buffalo. In places the riverine bush is very thick, and the going is tough.

The hunt:

A classic free range Buffalo hunt tracking the Buff with our Shangaan trackers. I will be in the camp from early September to 25 October guiding.

Dates:

Best dates now is middle September and middle October.

The trophy fee on the Buff is $3,500.00 so if you do not shoot one, this will be deducted from the $10k.

The camp:

I do not have pictures, but it is big Safari style tents, with a lodge building as main area. It is as what is expected of any decent Safari camp in Southern Africa.

We are not hunting PG here as we are starting a new programme this year to conserve the area.

We will only take Suni at a flat rate of $1,500.00 plus tag fee.

Interested parties can email me.

With many thanks,

So, the total for this hunt, all in is $13,835 with a $3,500 "refund" is a buff is not taken? Does this credit include the $600 D/P to Life Form Taxidermy if a buff is not taken or is that credit in addition to the $3500 "trophy fee? Does this include the 17% VAT on daily rate?

Most travelling hunters know that they will only pay the $600.00 Dip and pack fee IF they indeed have a trophy to dip and pack.

The day fees stated that it is all inclusive, which will indicate that yes, the 17,5% Government VAT tax is included.

The post have been edited to indicate the same.

Let me look at this in a bit more detail:

There is no "refund" as such.

The hunter pays a deposit off $3,000.00 to book the hunt plus the government extra's

On conclusion of the hunt the hunter pays the balance. If he did not shoot the Buffalo, it is $3,500.00 that is deducted from the price off $10,000.00.

The hunter also does not pay the dip and pack fee if he does not have a trophy to dip and pack.

I trust this is clear enough?

With many thanks,

Thanks Jan,

The company that we took it over from has had it for the last 5 years, and I believe they have taken two Buffalo every year.

It is a communal area as stated above. When we visited the area I saw the two heads that was taken at the end of last year. One shot by a Dane and the other by a South African.

Both were above 40"

I "inherited" the PH who worked the area, Neels Nel.

I will try and get some photo's on here.

Jan, you are of course welcome to phone me if you would like to talk about this area.

Regards,

Charl

Is this the area that the late Rob Duffield hunted before he got the dose of malaria that killed him last year?

This area looks close/adjacent to a new area that McDonald Safaris has. I have attached the link ..scroll down to the area called "Nuanetsi" as it has a description of the area and if you scroll down further a Google Earth Photo.

We are about 20km down stream from McDonald Safaris, according to the GPS info on their web-site.

I do not know about Rob, or his demise.

I see this post was for 2014 and was wondering how the hunt went? Are you still offering this hunt for 2016?
