Jan, Great to finally see you on AR. Expect to have numerous questions about everything you post here, since a forum such as this exists to inform and advise. Even though I know some of the answers already, I'll start the ball rolling: "all inclusive" means exactly what? 1) Transfer from and to Johannesburg included? 2) Trophy prep and delivery to a South African taxidermist included? 3) What other animals can be taken and what are their trophy fees? 4) Are there any dates between now and 31 March 2014 which are not open? 5) Is this a one-on-one hunt only or can two hunters and one PH be done? If 2 on 1 is possible, what would be the price? 6) When you say "restricted to 38 inch hard bossed old Bulls", do you mean that one is not allowed to shoot a bull of less than 38 inches? Or that one cannot shoot a bull of more than 38 inches? 7) What's your definition of an "old Bull"? 8) Where is one lodged when on this hunt? I could go on, but you get the idea. "More" info, on this forum, is good. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

Hi Wink Yes , it took me a while to get "with the program " as to speak with the social media . As you know I'm much more relaxed with a rifle in hand than a computer. The hunter needs to fly from Johannesburg to Eastgate airport in Hoedspruit. Its an easy one hour flight and 2 flights per day are available. Airport pickup at Eastgate is free. Alternatively hunters can be met in Johannesburg and returned after the hunt at $ 250 per person. Its a 4 and a half hour drive , each way. All the hunters day fees , which includes accommodation , meals , drinks ,vehicles , trackers and skinners , services of a registered PH , daily laundry service , are included in the package price. The trophy fee for one Buffalo as well as the permit fee is included. After a drying out period the trophy is delivered to Life Form taxidermy free of charge. Life form taxidermy will export the trophy to the hunter. This cost is for the hunter. Observers can be added at $ 150 per person per day. Lodging is at my camp at the foot of the Drakensberg mountain range about 30 minutes from the reserve. Photos of camp can be viewed at www.shumbasafaris.com This category of Buffalo we will be hunting allows us to shoot Bulls up to 38 inches in outside spread. An old Bull would be a hard bossed bull of 12 years and older - A Dagga boy. These are great Bulls to hunt and make handsome trophies. The rate is a 1 on 1 rate. The rate would drop to $ 12 000 for the package on a 2 on 1 hunt. The following dates are not available : 25 August to 29 September . As soon as I figure out how , I'll post some pictures.

Another point I might add is "free range" is an obused term. For purposes here I would recommend you designate whether its "high fence" or "low fence ", and what size the property is. Jerry Huffaker State, National and World Champion Taxidermist

Hi Jerry I agree , Free range does give some scope to the imagination , and it is used to con people into thinking its an open area hunt. The Balule game reserve is fenced ( High ) on one side only , its western fence. the rest is wide open. The effective hunting area is approximatly 17 000 acres. I guess that's free range. Touching upon the subject of High and low fences , which seems to be a hot one , please be advised that low fences can also keep certain spesies of game in ( and out ) , which would make an area like that a non free range area , although its low fenced.
