Alaska Glacier Mountain Outfitters has exclusive hunting rites to the two private islands of Montague and Hitchinbrook in Prince William Sound. These remote islands offer many many miles of perfect brown bear habitat. Through limited harvest they've been able to consistently produce bears in excess of 9' squared and 10' is a definite possible.

Hunts are offered in May when the big boys will be near the beaches feeding on new grasses and looking for love. In Oct on the They'll be on the salmon streams. The two pictured bears were taken by my clients on a May hunt with Glacier Mountain.

Each year Glacier Mountain has been able to offer every hunter a real shot opportunity at a bear and their goal is to shoot nothing under 9'.

Camp will be in a nice and dry Forest Service cabin on the May hunt and will be yacht based on the Oct hunt with hot showers, great food and all the comforts.

Hunts are conducted from Valdez, AK where you would catch the charter on the May hunt or the yacht for the Oct hunt.

1 spot is available Yacht based Oct 14-26, 2019 $28,800. A Sitka Blacktail is available on the this hunt fora $2,500 trophy fee. First and last day are travel days to and from the island.

Regular price is $30,000 and will be bumped to $36,000 for '20.

This is as close to a slam dunk for a real chance at a big bear that I know of. It is also physically easy as you'll either be glassing and walking the beach on the May hunt because that's where the bears are or cruising the beach in a small boat on the Oct hunt.
