A client has postponed his hunt so one hunt is available.

Dates are:

Arrive Douala 28th January and overnight. Next day 29th January, fly to Ngaoundere where your outfitter will meet you. You will return to Ngaoundere on the 9th of February and fly back to Douala in time to catch your flight home the same night. So you will be back in the States on the 10th of Feb. The other open date is 12th to 23rd March Ngaoundere/Ngaoundere. I advise the January date which is PRIME when the eland have the big black necks.

Cost of hunt Normally 21,000 euros reduced to 18.000 euros ONLY 1 HUNT AVAILABLE . if two hunters book together the price will be 17,500 each. you will still each hunt 1x1. This is a quality Eland hunt, not hunting in village areas depleted of game with the odd eland shot!

Prime dates in January 2018 available

Note: The number of hunting days is dictated by the airline schedule between Douala and Ngaoundere/Garoua. But typically 10 hunting days:

• Transfer to camp and return to Ngaoundere or Garoua
• All meals
• Daily laundry
• Accommodation in safari style camp

Arjun,

Can you post again how the quotas work for this hunt.

My understanding is that you can take one from group A, and four from B & C.

Do you buy licenses up front, or are they trophy fees?

What is group C?

A big game licence in Cameroon allows you to take 2 animals from Class A and 4 animals from class b/c. This has nothing to do with the cost of your hunt or the trophy fees.

The cost of the hunt depends on what you want to hunt and the trophy fees depends on what you kill or wound and lose.

On a LD Eland hunt most hunters shoot a buffalo or roan as their second A animal and then select 4 from the b/c list. Last year in their great wisdom the game department moved Waterbuck & Bushbuck from the B list to the A list! So if you wish to shoot either or both of these species in addition to your eland and say roan, then you need to buy a 2nd licence, as you have now shot 3 or 4 class A species. If you have shot an eland and a bushbuck OR waterbuck you have taken 2 class A animals in total so there is no requirement for a 2nd licence.

This outfitter does not charge an upgrade for a bushbuck or waterbuck, however they will count towards your 4 animals from list B. So your total will still remain 6 animals.

If you wish to shoot more than 6 animals, he charges extra depending on what additional species you wish to hunt.

The same applies for the forest hunts also. Example I just shot a bongo and a YB duiker both are A species so only had to buy 1 licence. If I had shot a dwarf buffalo then I would have had to buy a 2nd licence.

The other issue is Quotas. It is best to specify what you wish to hunt for upfront so the outfitter reserves the quota for you.

Hope this is all clear.

Folks this hunt is still available. We have no more Eland hunts to sell in 2018 and 2019 rates are going up!! I just got a "SPECIAL" offer for a LD Eland hunt from another outfitter for $45,000, so this looks like a deal to me!!

Thanks,

BTT - Folks this hunt is still available. It's a great deal at a PRIME time when the Eland have the desired long black neck hair. If you have any interest in shooting a LDE, this as good as it gets. 2019 rates are going up.

We shot 8 nice LD Eland bulls this season, so know a little bit about hunting in West Africa!

We shall also be at DSC and SCI - booth numbers listed below.

Thanks,

I can say this is a great deal and a great hunt. That's me in bottom picture; saving up to go for bongo with same outfitter in next few years.
