NEPAL

Folks,

Here is a hunt for Blue Sheep, Himalayan Tahr, Muntjac and Wildboar in Nepal.

To see a video clip of this hunt taken by my partner Renaud go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzRZDzLTwrc

Blue Sheep

Muntjac

Wild boar

Himalayan Tahr

A hunter can take one Blue Sheep, Tahr and Muntjac and you are allowed to shoot two wildboar. Total package cost is $12,500 + helicopter charter into basecamp from Kathmandu.

Treking into the hunting area

The sherpa porters we use are tough folk and are crucial to your hunt. These are the same tribe who climb Everest!

This hunt is a serious mountain hunt and one has to be in pretty good shape! The blue sheep and Tahr is hunted at 14,000+ feet. The wildboar and muntjac are hunted on the way up or down. The hunt is typically 8-10 days, if a hunter wants to stay a few extra days they are welcome to at no extra cost.

A local village enroute to camp

To get there, you will fly into Kathmandu, overnight and then charter in by helicopter a 1.5 hr flight. The helicopter costs $5,500 one way (as it has to fly back empty after dropping you off) it can accomodate two hunters with their luggage. If we can schedule your hunt so that the helicopter drops you off and picks up other hunters then the cost will be reduced accordingly. We recommend flying in, however on your way back you can choose to walk out with the Sherpas to the road where you can drive back to Kathmandu (a full days drive).

From where the helicopter drops you off, it is a full days climb to the tented spike camp from where you will hunt out of. This expedition is for a hunter who appreciates the culture, scenery and the opportunity to hunt in a magical place.

The future of hunting in Nepal is uncertain so do this hunt while you can.

We have one opening available, you will have to arrive Kathmandu on the 25th of March. On this hunt a french guide will be present, ususally these hunts are done with local guides so it is a good opportunity to hunt with an experienced western guide.

Thanks for looking.

Mario, These are the only animals that one can hunt now in Nepal and export the trophies. Unfortunately as in India hunting is no longer a priority and popular so who knows how much longer it will be allowed.
