Muchinga Adventures/Johnnie du Plooy has some of the first tuskless permits ever to be issued on the Luangwa River in Zambia. Two of these tuskless elephants are available on the Chifunda GMA for '19 and it appears they will be available going forward

Since there has been very limited elephant hunting all along the Luangwa it is not a problem to find a tuskless. Additionally the flat country along the river is much easier going than the Zambezi Valley in Zimbabwe where most tuskless hunting has been conducted up to this point.

Chifunda is real wild Africa with an abundance of big cats, good elephant, lots of buffalo plus the river is full of hippo and croc.

The tuskless package is 1x1 5 days only and that is plenty of time for tuskless but if I was going all the way to Zambia I'd want to stay at least 10 days or more below are a couple of add-ons that easily round out the safari to 10 or 12 days.

I spoke to Laura Du Plooy this AM and it appears that tuskless elephant will continue to be a standard quota item in the foreseeable future in Zambia. Forward bookings are available for tuskless/PG only or as a 5 day add-on to any other hunt Muchinga offers. 15 days 2 buffalo, tuskless, hippo, croc and PG would make a very nice safari.

TTT FOR '19

Hunted with Johnny way back in 2008 in that area......you'll see it all. Back then, we had a couple of nasty tuskless take offense to us being around them. I had a great time there. Johnny and his camp staff were top drawer.
Actually booked with Mark too....he was in a previous life....
