Is the license really 15,000 or is that a typo?

Great photos! What accounts for the difference in the Bongo's coat, orange with stripes vs. shaggy brown?

Christophe- What a spectacular post, this would really be a fantastic experience!...Gorillas and all!!
Are you the PH?
What time of year is best for Bongo?
How difficult is this hunt for an old guy... Generally no problem with heat and humidity?
Do you use dogs on Bongo, maybe Sitatunga hunts?
What is best route of travel into Brazzaville from US?
Are you attending Dallas or Reno SCI conventions?
Cheers,

470EDDY, thank you for your kind words.
Hunting in the jungle is very different then hunting in the savannah, the surrounding makes it a fantastic experience. Seeing the gorillas is just top notch.
Yes, I am the PH. The hunting season is from May 1st to October 15. August is not good as it is not raining enough. We had hunters up to 75 years old and they were successful with Bongo. We do use dogs.
The best way to go to Brazzaville is via Paris.
I will be at the DSC convention, we can see each other and talk about it if you want.
Meanwhile you can talk with PAGuardian and check his hunt report.

Seems like this site needs an update on how Wes Hixon treats cash paying clients.

So you resurfaced a thread from nearly 5 years ago because Wes Hixon was mentioned once in the thread??

This thread has nothing to do with Wes Hixon. If you have had a problem with booking a hunt with Mr. Hixon, I would suggest you take your claim to the general forum. Posting a cryptic message on this 5 year old offer by Christophe and Congo Forest Safaris is disrespectful and uncalled for...

Craig,

Yeah! I've said it before. If you want to complain about a person or hunt do it. Cryptic messages seem a little chicken shit to me.

I also agree that if your beef is with Wes Nixon and not with Christo's hunt take it up with Wes or start your own thread on your issue.

As long as we are bringing up a 5 year old thread, anyone know the odds of actually seeing gorillas?

Please take my opinion with a grain of salt as I have only hunted in their Tala Tala concession once (back in 2019). However, based on my isolated experience I would say your odds are good. If memory serves me correctly, we saw the gorillas 7 times in 13 days of hunting. Most were chance encounters with fleeting glimpses, although, there is always a chance for something special...

I hunted there last Sept. Seems like we saw Gorilla's on 4 occasions in my 13 day hunt. My hunt report is here:

I agree with the others if you have a problem with Hixon then start a new thread. No need to be a jerk.
