BIG BULLS IN NG 8 and NG9 for '13

Garry Kelly in association with Tholo Safaris has access to 9 elephant bull permits in Botswana's NG 8 and NG 9 for '13 in the Okavango Delta. These hunts are best late season and conducted on the palm islands when the Marula fruit etc is ripening. You should see multiple big bulls each day and expectation should be for a bull of 70# plus with much bigger possible.

The hunt will be conducted with at least two groups of trackers checking the islands for big bulls dramatically increasing your chances of success. I've not hunted elephant on these islands but I've been in the watery environment in the Okavango and can only imagine this to be an adventure of a lifetime.

I've hunted with Garry Kelly and Tholo Safaris and I know them to both be top notch. They will spare no effort to get you a big Jumbo.

Several dates are open through 30 Nov.

These maybe some of the last Bots elephant ever offered and certainly a most unique hunt that probably will not ever be duplicated once elephant closes in Botswana.

Pricing:

1x1 10 days $54,500 including trophy fee up to 50Lbs
Above 50Lbs the following additional fees are applicable:
50+ Lbs. to 60 Lbs. = $5,000
60+ Lbs. to 70 Lbs. = $10,000
70+ Lbs. to 80 Lbs. = $15,000
80+ Lbs.+ = $20,000
Daily Rates for Non Hunters:
$350 per person per day.

Included in the Safari Fees:
1. License Fee
2. Meet and Greet on arrival in Maun
3. Road Transfer to camp and back to Maun

5. Camp services and camp staff
6. Accommodation

Botswana is so expensive and the sliding scale?
Gimme a break. It's unfortunate that there is so many elephants and price is going up all the time

Saeed,

I copied and pasted Garry's ad and forgot to delete that sentence. I removed it. It referred to Garry's payment schedule but does not correspond to my standard contract.

And it realy shows a lack of class to crap on a man's thread who is trying to make a living.

If they are overpriced the market will dictate a decrease. But I never thought there would be this type of opportunity to hunt the Okavanga Delta again and for some that opportunity is priceless.

I hunted deep in the Okavango Delta in 1996 and 1997, mainly for buffalo. It is a truly amazing experience. I was very disappointed when they closed it up.

I would highly recommend going. As Mark said, this may be the last of the Botswana bulls!

Didn't mean to steal your thread, Mark, but I sure hope someone snaps this up.

SWAMBO,

Your pic hit the essence of this hunt. There really is nothing quite like the Okavango and your chances of an exceptional trophy are very good. If I could afford it I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Mark,
I would like to hunt bots before it closes but this one is out of my price range. If you get a line on a late season deal before the close let me know

Hi Mark. I know the drill, but why is Botswana so much more expensive then Zim or SA?
Seems like Botswana has so many elephants, so they say. Why is that that I don't see more economical hunts for us regular guys?
As you know 50 G's is even in States a king's ransom.
is it market or just market pretention for greed?
Same goes pretty much for every African country more or less.
Seems to me like we American are just a walking dollar signs, which could be farthest from the truth.

Boarkiller,

The short answer is that if you have the goods and clientele you can charge whatever the market will bare but isn't that how most businesses work? I assure you the operators I know in Zimbabwe would charge these same prices for elephant if they thought they could get them. Please understand these guys are in business to make money first and foremost and few live a very lavish lifestyle.

I understand Mark. Still too bad. I still think there is more to it then just the market.
been in Africa and elsewhere. Have seen how everyone thinks we American are rich beyond comprehension.
I ALSO understand its not the operators but greedy government officials. Tanzania is just an example and Botswana in tow.
But I also understand that is just life. I somehow manage to hunt in Africa, but I wish many of my friends could afford it, which is why I'm disappointed in the price increase every year after year.
Sincerely, Milan, MT, USA

I'm hoping someone gets stuck with one of these at the end of the season and would rather sell it than lose it. My bags are packed. Cool

This hunt is either a very expensive hunt for a 50 pounder or a very reasonable hunt for a 70 pounder. In the latter case, which I suspect is much more likely, someone should snap it up immediately. I wish I had the money and won't fault the guy who does!
