Hunts to be conducted by JVA Safaris – Professional Hunter Jason van Aarde

This concession is true wilderness and lies in the corridor between Quirimba and Niassa National Park on the Mesalo River. Not for the faint hearted, but rather a hunt designed for the true, dedicated hunter. A high level of fitness is required in order to be successful as the average walking distance is from 5 – 20 km per day in extreme heat. The rewards however, are well worth the scarifies as you can see from the elephant trophies taken (also saw a 100lb one tuskers on day one but unfortunately due to wind swirl, he got away) In addition to your normal Big Game there is also a huge population of smaller antelope such as suni and red duiker.

The concession is situated 280km NW of Pemba, to where you can fly by means of commercial flight, which cuts out any additional cost of private charters into camp.

Guys,

For those of you who don't know Jason, I've known him since before he was old enough to hunt with clients and in fact, the first client he ever took on a stalk was one of mine. (I doubt Jason remembers that though)

I reckon he's now one of two guys I'd consider to be amongst the very best PHs of their generation and recommend him very highly indeed. tu2

Hi Guys,

Definetaly a hunt worth looking forward to. Some of the wildest, natural areas to be hunted in Mozambique.

Excellent camp and the staff is a great group of guys who will do their best to make it as comfortable as they can.

And for Jason, he is one hell of a guy and someone I will share my campfire with!!!! And his knowledge of Elephants and his love for the bush and the whole hunting experience is great!!!!

Guys,

This is a good deal, dont know if any of you have read Jason's write ups but besides being a hunter of note the man is not half bad with the old pencil.

Jason good luck!

Cheers

When is USFW going to pull thier heads out and allow import of elephant from Moz? When that happens, I assume deals like this will be jumped on by the US hunters.

I think the answer to that one is when the American Judges grow a set of balls.

As I understand it, John Jackson of Conservation Force is doing a sterling job of repeatedly dragging USF&WS into court, the Judge orders them to do various things and the USF&WS just seem to ignore it until JJ drags them back into court when they just apologise and the matter seems to be forgotten.

What it wants is for a Judge to jail all the heads of USF&WS until they start complying with the court orders in a timely manner.

Also as I see it, there is absolutely no justifiable reason for the ban......
