The hunt is for 3 days and 4 nights with full board and one chamois trophy up regardless of size for only 3500 USD. 2000 USD refundable if chamois is not shot but until now we have 100% success.
The hunting area is located only 200 kilometers from Bucharest international airport in the county of Vrancea.

The season starts after 15 September, but the best time is after 15-20 October, when the animals are in the rut. Other species available are wild boar, red stag and bear. And we have US reference but not for this area. In fact, just be sure we will have reference for this area, the package include now 5 hunting days and 6 nights.

AH, more one more item....Guns?? Do you have guns available or what are formalities for bringing proper rifles for this hunt?

Sir, to hunt chamois, bear and wild boar in the same trip, I recommend 7 hunting days(5 hunting days included in the package of the chamois, plus 2 extra days at 400 USD per day).
The trophy fee for the bear is around 10.000 usd. I said around, because as you probably know, in Romania we have a sliding scale for most of the trophies. A good bear is 8500 USD and a very good one is 12 000 USD. For wild boar the price is 1000 USD and for this price you will shoot a very good one. The observer fee is
100 USD per day. We do have rifle available, but for chamois is better to shoot with your own rifle, the rifle you are used. If not,procedures are very simple. You send me copies from your hunting licence, passport and hunting insurance and I will send you back a hunting invitation that you need for the custom. In will take between 5 and 10 minutes to check the hunting invitation and the serial number of the rifle/rifles at the romanian custom and after that we can leave for the hunting area.

What is the species of the Bear...common name in the record books, not scientific?

Sir, the name of the bear is European brown bear( Ursus arctos arctos).
In Europe, Romania holds the first 10 records.
Any caliber bigger than 30.06 will do the job if you hit the right spot but I recommend 9.3x64 or 375 H&H just to be sure.

In the US, we don't have gun licenses. Do you think the US Customs Registry form prepared prior to departure so you can return with the gun would satisfy the gun registry requirement?
We also have no National Hunting License, only one issued by each State, does that work? It has NO gun information on it.
How difficult is the Chamois hunt...I am 69 but still walking well...a little balance issue due to a numb foot caused by back surgery.

Sir, I know you do not have gun licence in US, but there are a lot of US hunters coming in Romania every year, the US Custom Registry form and a hunting licence from your state will be fine. Only thing I need is hunting insurance, that is mandatory.
Particularly, this area is an accessible one. I can send you some pictures with the hunting area just to make an idea.

When you speak of hunting insurance, are you speaking of Hunting Liability, ie in case of an accident or insurance for medical care and extraction from hunting areas in case of accident. I am familiar with the latter, but have no idea where to buy Hunting Liability Insurance?? That is a new one!

Also please comment on hunt accommodations if they would be OK for my wife as observer? Is it a hunting camp, lodge or local lodge in town?

I think I am inclined to hunt Chamois and Boar.

The hunting insurance it is about 50 USD, sir.
We have 2 types of accommodation, one in the middle of the hunting area and one very comfortable about 16 km from the chamois area, about 30 minutes drive with the car.

The Carpathian hunt is VERY tempting!

I'll be in the "neighborhood" next fall with a fellow AR member hunting Alpine and Balkan Chamois.
