For anyone interested in difficult free range search-on-foot ethical plains game hunting, where no trophy size is gauranteed, but certainly hoped for and possible, here are some packages for next year to consider. Very few places available, so book your hunt now for $ 1000 deposit and avoid disappointment! Details for two packages for 2011. Hunting from the base facilities as at Mervilla near Soutpan in the Free State Grassveldt. Package 1 $3500 (Basic hunt) 7 Nights Accommodation with 6 full hunting days. Hunting on arrival and departure day free optional as allowed by time of day of arrival or departure. Species included: 1x Impala or blesbuck 1x Springbuck 1x Steenbuck 1x Black wildebeest. 1 Night varminting for whatever can be legally hunted by spotlight and/or calling methods. [Varmint trophy preparation limited to chilling or freezing.] Package 2 $ 6800 (plains game special) 10 Nights Accommodation with 9 full hunting days. Hunting on arrival and departure day free optional as allowed by time of day of arrival or departure. Species Included: 1x Impala or blesbuck 1x Black wildebeest 1x Steenbuck 1x Springbuck 1x Burchells zebra 1x Gemsbuck 1 or by choice 2 Nights’ varminting for whatever can be legally hunted by spotlight and/or calling methods. [Varmint trophy preparation limited to chilling or freezing.] Additional Option for both packages: Add a 2 full days’ [on pre-determined dates] Wingshooting, either before or after the trophy hunting, consisting of mostly guinea fowl surrounds as part of a group of about 12 guns, but with odd other upland and waterfowl game birds as encountered included, to be added at $ 500 per hunter – i.e. $ 250 per day for high quality wingshooting. The above rates include the following services: Free pick up and return from/to Bloemfontein Regional Airport The exclusive private full use of all facilities in the camp such as the available – no sharing of facilities with hunters/observers not in your party – except for the wingshooting period if that option is added.. Full catering: early morning coffee & rusks, brunch, snacks, packed lunch if required, full dinner, all soft drinks and alcoholic beverages in moderation. All cleaning and daily laundry services. Hunting: All license and trespass fees, full time services of a fully licensed and experienced Professional Hunter, trackers, skinners, all camp staff, transport to and from blinds, picking up of trophies, field preparation of any game taken and transportation of trophies to taxidermy or Dip ‘n Pack company. Free rifle loan and ammunition if you wish to not bring own rifle. The above rates excludes the following: Accommodations and travel before and after safari dates. Transport by vehicle from Johannesburg International Airport if desired as alternative to add-on flight to Bloemfontein. Taxidermy work and shipping of trophies to final destination – HO responsibility for taxidermy ends with delivery of field prepared trophies and instructions to local [Bloemfontein or Witwatersrand & Pretoria area] taxidermist. Gratuities. Should any animal in the package not be taken on the hunt it will be carried over to a next hunt or should you wish to exchange an animal you are welcome to do so providing the price is the same or value will be added or subtracted. Alternatively – at the choice of the hunter - the trophy fee can be refunded in full to the amount shown in the Remuneration Agreement, the prior signing of which is a condition of the hunt.
