Success fees (Eland = €12,000, Lion = €15,000);

Hi Amy and welcome to AR. Can you explain the success fee? How is it different than a trophy fee? Thanks!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Hi all,
The difference between success fees and trophy fees:
Success Fee = a surcharge implemented by the outfitter upon kill/wounding of LDE, lion, leopard, or giant forest hog only.
Safaria charges only half of the safari cost to go on the hunt, which allows for less financial risk up front. Then once a client is successful on LDE, they charge the remaining half of their safari fee. Clients of the ProHunt Concierge receive 15% off both the base safari rate, and then again on success fee for LDE, lion, leopard, and giant forest hog.
Success fee charges are as follows:
• Giant forest hog € 12 000
• Giant eland € 12 000
• Leopard € 15 000
• Lion € 15 000

Trophy fee = government charge for any animals killed or wounded during safari. This fee also incurs an additional 20% VAT (gov't tax) per animal. There is no discount available to clients on trophy fees; this is a gov't charge.

Trophy fees for other animals (USD based on current exchange rate):
• Giant forest hog € 2 200 (US$2,975)
• Yellow back duiker € 2 000 (US$2705)
• Roan antelope € 1 800 (US$2434)
• Buffalo € 950 (US$1285)
• Harnassed bushbuck € 600 (US$811)
• Lelwel hartebeest € 600 (US$811)
• Red river hog € 500 (US$676)
• Warthog € 400 (US$541)
• Oribi € 300 (US$406)
• Western bush duiker € 300 (US$406)
• Red flanked duiker € 300 (US$406)
• Blue duiker € 300 (US$406)
• Civet cat € 300 (US$406)
• Porcupine € 200 (US$270)
• Baboon € 150 (US$203)
• Guineafowl € 20 (US$27)
• Francolin € 20 (US$27)

Please let me know if anyone has other questions!
Thanks much,

Rough over-estimate of total trip costs for 2 hunters, including 2 eland and 3 buffalo, RT airfare from USA, hotel/meals for overnights in Bangui, tips for PH & staff, shipping of trophies to USA, tax on spent ammo, tourist Visas, trip insurance, and Global Rescue med/security memberships = $76,000.00

This totals out to around $38,000.00 USD per hunter for this special offer, ALL inclusive for ProHunt Concierge clients.

Regular price for this hunt, inclusive ONLY of base rate, charters, licenses, success and trophy fees = $49,000.00. Special offer saves about 22%.
