No. In fact I have no idea why people bash the EU for the problems with bear hunting in Romania. The Romanian van was not caused by the EU. Nor has the EU recently got involved in bear hunting in other EU countries.

Yes I just read it. I am sure that radio bulgaria is a crown of investigative journalism Big Grin , but the truth is that many countries (Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia, Finnland, Sweden, Croatia) in Europe allow bear hunting. All their hunting has no conflict with EU laws. The reason that Romania banned hunting was not the EU.

I am not very familiar with the situation in Bulgaria, but it seems the way the allowed bear hunting was not a very sustainable approach.

Not that I have any reason to protect the EU but lets stick to the facts.

Caracal,

What are the logistics about getting the trophy back to the US?

Can you estimate the costs for Dip and Pack or completed taxidermy (Rug), export and shipping?

Thanks,

Frank

Hello,
I can only approximate the costs. But I would think 5-700€ for all paperwork and dip & pack plus shipping 1000€.
I will just forward the costs to the hunter.

For taxidermy I tend to ask clients to use the one they trust. We can arrange to visit a local taxidermist nin Croatia, but prices are not much cheaper then in US for good taxidermy.

A guy from our local hunting club just killed a really nice gold medal bear on this hunt. Great bear, and he had a good time.
