For those looking for an Ibex hunt I cannot recommend the Ibex hunting in Kazakhstan enough. Firstly I have worked with the outfitter for a number of years and they are very reliable and trustworthy. Their areas are all good and the Ibex area in particular produces some absolute monster 50"+ Ibex every season. But to be clear an Ibex in the mid to high 40" range is what should be expected. For Ibex to grow large horns they have to have good forage year around and live to an old age. This area has forest cover so the Ibex have food and shelter in the harsh winters and thus also survive to an old age. This area is roughly where Kermit Roosevelt shot the record Mid-Asian Ibex and writes about it in his book EAST OF THE SUN WEST OF THE MOON. Kazakhstan is a friendly country and the locals are very welcoming to foreigners. 5 hunting days 4,800 euros Hunt Price Includes • Hunting License • Border zone permit • Local veterinary certificate for trophy • Meet and greet assistance at Almaty airport • Transportation to hunting area • Accommodation in base camp and tents in the mountains • Horses in hunting areas • Services of guide • Services of interpreter – in base camp • Field treatment of trophies • Local flight to hunting area and road transport Price does not Include • Visa support letter if required 100 € • Hotel in Almaty before or after your hunt • Sightseeing • Alcoholic drinks • Cost of shipment of trophies • License for import and export of arms € 365 Preparation of the trophy for transportation € 500 (packing of the trophies and export paperwork) • Non hunting companion €250/day Trophy fees: Ibex trophy fees (measurement of longest horn): Upto 100 cms €2,200 101-110 cms €2,550 111-120 cms €2,750 121-130 cms €3,275 Over 131 cms €4,275 This is a horse back hunt, where you and your guide and a helper will set off from basecamp. It is a rugged wilderness, camping in the mountains hunt and hunters should be in good physical shape. Some experience of horse riding is definitely a plus. Ability to shoot out to 300 yards will good to secure you your Ibex. Another advantage of this hunt is that it is at much lower altitude than what Ibex are hunted at in Kyrgyztan and also in Tajikistan. This hunt can also be combined with Maral stag and Siberian roe deer. Wolves and wild boar are targets of opportunity. Look forward to answering any questions. Thanks for your time.
