I have a cancellation hunt available for an elephant bull for 2015. (Caprivi, Namibia, so exportable to the USA.)

The hunt can take place in either one of our Caprivi areas, but must be done before the end of November 2015.
Our one area (Sikunga) is best June to October, as it is located on the Zambezi river. It consists roughly of half Silver leaf Terminallia thickets and half flood plains. The floodplains are covered in tall grass in the dryer months, and dotted by clumps of “islands” of thick vegetation and tall trees, in which the elephants spend the day time, if they area in the floodplain section of the concession. They, however spend most of the time in the “forestry” side of the concession, to feed on the Terminallia. At the end of October, it usually starts raining, making the elephant move back to the nearby Chobe National Park in Botswana. Thus after the 10th of November it becomes extremely difficult to find a good bull here. Before June, there is still a high likelihood of some areas being inaccessible, due to the flood waters of the Zambezi.
Thus, the best times to hunt this area, is June to end October. (Current available dates would be July 27th to August 10th, August 14th to September 9th , October 14th to November 5th. Anything after that would be too late for this area.

Our other area, (Sobbe) is best April to June, and then again the last 2 weeks of November. (This is because the area is rain dependent, although we have some bore holes to pump water.) Most of this area is Mopane woodlands, with lots of Terminallia and Camel thorn trees interspersed. The elephants move freely from the adjacent Mudumo Park, part of the greater Bwabwata National Park. In fact, the concession has a 26 mile long boundary that it shares with this park. Current open dates that would work well for this area, are April 20th to May 4th, 31 May to June 10th, and November 10th to 30th.
We have averaged around 48 pounds in either area, but bigger bulls are doable if the hunter are prepared to hunt hard, and pass up a few bulls. Remember, we have no size limits, and the hunt will cost the same if you are lucky enough to find a 90 pound bull. (unlikely, heaviest shot in area in recent years in the 70s).

The hunt are conducted in both areas by driving until we find suitable tracks, then we follow them to go and check tusk size on foot. Normally, quite a lot of elephant are seen, so we have the opportunity to stalk a few before a hunter takes a shot.
The hunt will be conducted by a fully qualified Namibian Big Game Professional hunter, who most likely will be a NAPHA member as well. All staff in camp are highly trained, and accommodation and food will meet and exceed Namibian Tourism board standards. (depending on timing, myself, Fred Bezuidenhout or Malan Lamprecht will most likely be the PH on this hunt.)

Total cost of either hunt would be US$ 48 500 normally including 14 hunting days, 2 travel days and a trophy elephant. No hidden costs, you just have to get here and back, and get your trophy back. I have a deposit of US$ 10 000 on this hunt, which I would want to give back to the client, but as this is a cancellation hunt, I can use some or all of that towards a hunt booked in his place.

I am willing to let this hunt go for US$ 40 000, all inclusive as above.
I want to sell this hunt before I start the hunting season, as If I can sell this hunt early,I am also still able to offer it in both of my areas.
If the hunt is taken in the November time slot, I will have a buffalo bull also available at US$ 7500 extra. (At the moment anyway).
Other extra game would be hippo (4000), kudu (1500), zebra (1500), wildebeest (900), duiker and warthog (400). On the odd chance that I have a leopard tag left, it can be added at US$ 5000 if hunted successful. Same with roan and sable, at US$ 9000 each (if available)

I hunted with Fred twice years ago, buffalo/leopard, then roan/lion, when Fritz Reinhart had what was then the Caprivi Strip along the Kwando. Listening to his tales of elephant hunting, I always thought how cool it would be to hunt a big "Botswana Bull" with him. I wish funding permitted!!!!

Reads like a great hunt Karl, huge wrinkled old bulls with thick weathered ivory, importable into the US....I hope somebody from AR takes this hunt and writes a nice report!

Hi guys,

This will be a great hunt, I've had a great elephant safari with Karl &

wholeheartedly recommend him & this area. If I wasn't already booked

with Kiri/Fallow Buck (Athina Hunting) to do the week of grouse hunting in Scotland

(the hunt offered below this one, at least when I posted!), then I would

do this. This is a great option to get a nice bull elephant! I will paste a link

to my hunt report with Karl, it kind of gives you an idea of what to expect.

Great opportunity. Great PH, location, and price. Timing is perfect if I could just tack this on the back of my trip to Tanzania this year. But if I did but did that, they would likely kick me out of the firm, clean out my office and tell me to hit the road. Getting away for three weeks is hard enough already.

Somebody needs to buy this.

Speaking from experience, you can't go wrong with Karl and his concessions. Personally, best food I've had on safari. Took my trophy ele on day 10 in Sikunga. A great time.

This looks like a great option for exportable Ivory. Next year I will have the funds so I will be watching for your offers and perhaps get on a mailing list. Wish I could jump on this now!
