How much for bait animals? Impala? Kudu cows? This is a good offer considering there is no road transfer fee and one observer is free and a $ 15K reduction if no leopard taken or wounded and lost. STAY IN THE FIGHT!

We are currently in the process of undertaking an extensive leopard and lion survey in Chewore south, this involves breaking the entire concession down into sections, setting numerous baits in each section each with trail cams to record cats that come to these baits to enable us to build up a data base of cats within these sections of the concession, the data we collect will be looked at and analysed by a friend of mine who is an extremely well respected and experienced ecologist who has extensive experience in wildlife management and quota setting. Using this data we will have a better knowledge of our resident cat populations and will be able to make more accurate assessments when it comes to setting quota's / off takes within the concession in the coming years. so clients will have the added advantage of us knowing what cats are where, whether they meet ours and the hunting industry minimum qualifying criteria etc. we are in a unique position this season to be doing extensive baiting which clients will benefit from. So we will then target the previously hit baits where big cats have been feeding a week or two before the client arrives. we at present do not have any kudu cows on our quota, something we will definitely apply for at our annual quota setting later in the year. we have a lot of kudu within the concession. Impala females for bait are $150

I saw 2 leopards in daytime, one of which was a monster, and two in the evening so I know there are leopards and saw lions as well in Chewore South. That is a hefty trophy fee on them however. Good day rate, however.

With fairly strict qualifying criteria set for lions and leopards by operators, our own hunting industry and various regulatory bodies, we as a company feel we should share the risk with our clients, what we have done is spread the value of the total hunts cost to be more towards the end product - a mature lion / leopard, On a successful hunt one feels happy to pay the price as the animal is in the salt. As always Certain variables especially in government concession areas when cats are feeding outside of legal hunting hours can mean the difference between success or failure on a safari, I am sure a large majority of client's would rather a higher / loaded trophy fee at the opportunity of taking the "right cat" , than only saving the regular trophy fee on not having an opportunity at taking a shot ? Having personally hunted this concession fairly regularly on and off since the mid 90's we are confident our success ratio on these hunts will be between 75-90% . We have a leopard safari in the field now and on day 5 have several cats feeding on baits but none that meets the "minimum qualifying criteria", One cat is "borderline" on meeting the set criteria , put this scenario to the test in the last few hunting hours of a clients full priced safari and the professional hunter is going to be under immense pressure to say the least.
