There is about 10,000acres of no mans land between us and JP, but yes, it is close to Mahimba. Mozambique safaris borders Mahimba on the west. We are on the south side. Will try and post google map reference.

What is the size of your area? How big are some of the buffalo herds in the area? Not familiar with Mozambique Safaris you referred to the west of Mahimba.

Thanks

This is an excellent deal for buffalo today!!! Though I am not familiar with this area, Charl has always been a straight-shooter and Moz is excellent buff habitat!

Buff herds are not big as south of the river, but decent herds are between 60-100. IF you have hunted Mahimba you will know the deal.

Area is split up in two blocks, one is 25,000ha and the other 35,000.00 totalling 60,000.00ha, making it about 150,000acres.

We have about 500 head off Buffalo on the area at any given time.

The hunting is NOT easy though.

Well, Moz. safaris is to the west of Mahimba, and they are on the quota sheet. Do not know anything about them or their operation, just that it is owned by a Portuguese guy and they border JP in Mahimba. Oh, and they appear on the quota sheet!

This hunt leave Biebs and I out from this deal.
You don't have a swamp buggy with cup holders and built in gun rests do you.
We would also need a waiter to bring refreshments and lunch also.

Sir,

There are Plains Game. They are however, like in most commmunial hunting areas, not abundance.

We will encounter Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Warthog, Bushpig, and in the one area very very good Busbuck. Salia island have some Red Duiker, Suni and Blue Duiker as well.

We also have 5 Sable on quota, but decided to maybe take one this year, as they are not thick on the ground. We have not taken a Sable there yet. So Sable can be added to this for $4,500.00 trophy fee plus tag.

Also a ton of croc tags now (the Hippo thing realy stuffed us!)

We decided to offer Hippo for only $1,500.00 plus tag fee now, but it is non exportable. You can legaly hunt it, but you will not get the trophy out of Moz.

Adam, we gonna get there brother! Thanks again for the beers in Atlanta in Jan!

Larry, what can I say my friend, I have tried it which ever way with you and Jon, maybe I SHOULD invest in such a buggy for you two. Tell you what, you buy it, I build it, you use it, when it is done we will donate it to the "BIG FART HUNTING CLUB" in Timbaktu to hunt camels in their swamp.

so charl do you plan on selling them a buffalo hunt for Mozambique and then attend sci in reno where you will be looking for outfitters to give you quota to cover the hunts you are trying to book because you don't have any agreements with moz outfitters? just make sure next time you do that you get pictures of the clients you are selling the hunt to. I walked up right next to you at a moz booth in Reno and you were frantically trying to find a place with quota for the hunts you were trying to sell me. Not cool at all.

Stomper - sincerely i do not see any problem if Charl is trying to look around for the best deal to offer you. As far as i know , Charl has his concession and company named Artemis and he has 5 buffalo on quota but there are plenty of quota around his area and south of the Marromeu.
As far as you are happy with the price and the service hired , there is no problem to have Charl for your hunts.
I personally hunted in various countries with a PH that liked very much and i wanted him to take care of me and so he did with great success.
Just my opinion of course.

Sir,

The owner of Artemis Safaris is Albert Smith.
Infinito Safaris markets and execute all Safaris in the Mucundia and Salia concessions for Artemis Safaris from 2011, and me and Albert is 50/50% partners in this. Artemis has had the area now for 7 years.
I did a "recce" season in 2011 and killed Buffalo, Hippo and Crocs there.
I did approach Morremeu and Zambesi Delta Safaris for EXTRA quota after I was informed that the quota we had for 15 Buffalo for the year 2013 was cut to 5, and published on the quota sheets as such. I wrote out about 9 quotes at SCI for our Moz operation. I did not book one there or anytime there after.
I find it strange that you would think that I would book the Buff hunts advertised here with any other operator as they all start their prices at about $12,000.00??

My apology if you got the wrong impression, but there is honestly no foul play here.

Could you please expand on your definition of this being a "hard hunt" ?
My buddy and I are both a couple of old bush bashing deer stalkers who are constantly amazed at the luxury of most African operations.
We are looking for a 2 on 1 Buff hunt and like a bit of adventure.
We don't need cup holders in an Argo as being Aussies we never spill our drinks under any conditions!
Is the terrain the major challenge ?
Could you also let me know what date range vacancies you have please.

Sir,

Thanks for the inquiry.

The terrain is swampy, but not too bad. Also, early mornings and whole day out in the bush with no vehicles, everything we need in packs. Back at dark hour. I did guide a 67 year old hunter there in 2011, and although it was tough going, he showed charachter true to form and got his two Buff and two Hippo (and a croc).

Everyone that knows me will tell you that although I am a tenacious bastard, I am no olympic athlete. I am not merely booking this hunt, I will be guiding it as well.

Date ranges are 15 Sept-8 October, give a day or two to either side.

Aussies always welcome in my camp, wo'nt be the first time. I will have to charge extra for the bourbon though!

Cheers,

I did guide a 67 year old hunter there in 2011, and although it was tough going, he showed charachter true to form and got his two Buff and two Hippo (and a croc).

So more than one buffalo can be taken?

The hunt I referred to was a fact finding mission, and I made the hunter a special offer. IF your are serious about going, you are welcome to email me on the address on my signature line, and we can maybe work something out.

I hunted in 2010 at Artemis for buffalo and croc. The good terrain news there is no hills, but there swamps, at times we were in the reeds in water chest deep. Water proof boots also keep water in.
Although I did not get a buff I did get a croc, my buddy shot a 6-7 meter one but it slid back into the water and was lost, (there are a lot of crocs, go to where the fishermen tell you). I also went as an observer on a hippo hunt (my rifle got a hippo, the PH wanted to try it, but I just watched) it was delicious.
The staff there was great; I had pulled a muscle in my leg while chasing buff and could not pick my foot up very high , one of the trackers walked ahead of me for miles to tramp the grass down for me.
The is an episode of Trophy Quest that was videoed there at the same time as we were there.
We drove from Jo-berg across Zim, Moz and then by boat for the last leg, we got to see some real Africa.

Dogleg: I had a message from Charl that indicated he was on his way to Denmark and Sweden this past weekend. I have had no problems communicating with him in the last couple weeks.

Sir,

I replied three times on your email. Something is wrong. Will look into it. I am in Scandinavia at the moment. Back on Sunday next week.
