Capt. PurvisRifle hunting Six Deer/ Two Bucks NC
Four day rifle hunting for whitetails.
Each hunter is allowed two bucks and four does.
Price is $1,400 per person and includes six nights lodging and four full days of hunting. Bow and Black Powder season begin in September and our rifle season runs from October to January first.
All hunting will be still hunting inside elevated box stands, tree stands and ground blinds. No worries if you are scared of heights. Spot and stalk hunts are available. Hunting takes place on my private land in North Carolina's most populated area for Whitetails. Please note that this package is not available during our Black Bear season. This is a great trip to bring you Son, Daughter or Grandchild.

NC Out of State License is $120 and includes six deer tags. No lottery system. Simply purchase online or over counter at local hardware or sporting goods store.
We are located 85 miles North East but 100 years away from RDU International Airport. Several rental companies at RDU available but arrival and departure transportation is available at a minimal fee.
Please note that this is a 100% free range hunt. The only animals that are fenced in on our land are my bird dogs and horses.
Below are bucks that my kids harvested on our farm. Last year we did not have much time to deer hunt and there was only three deer killed that I know of on all of our 3,000 acres around the lodge. I am sure there were some poached that I do not know about. There is a nice buck that is close to making B&C that is still around as of February. I did hunt him few times but he winded me at 300 yards and I never saw him again during the season. He is one smart old boy.
My kids did not hunt that much this year so I am going to open it up for some guided and semi guided hunts. I am not going to mix parties and going to have a limited number of hunts. I have just started to see some wild hog signs and a got a few on game camera. They look like they have decent tusk. You can shoot all of them that you want. I will even let you come and hunt them for free after turkey season. We are a family ran operation and going to treat you like family while you are here!

Condo stands are positioned along the edges of agriculture fields and in food plots.
Are food plots consist of Sunflowers, Japanese and Brown Top Millet, Chufa, Wheat, Corn, Soybeans and Oats.
Row crops that are harvested include Cotton, Corn, Peanuts, Soybeans and Wheat.
We are located on the Coastal Plains. Corn will sometimes yield as much as 250 bushels per acre and cotton has yieled 2 bails per acre. Big yields equal quality deer and big Black Bears.
Every aspect of what grows and lives on our land is correlated. We work diligently year round to care for and grow quality game.
Mission Statement: To be recognized as one of the most professional and knowledgeable Outfitters in the industry, while promoting conservation and the future of hunting as measured by our clients, associates and competitors.

Capt. PurvisIf the weather is right I will allow you to do some stalk hunting but only with a guide present. There is a certain amount of physical conditioning required. This is not a normal type of stalk. We wade through the swamps and river bottoms to the islands where the bucks are bedding.
You can also shoot as many of these as you want. Just make sure you can tell the difference between a Coyote and a Red Wolf.

Capt. PurvisBachelor group of six bucks on minerals. Antlers are just starting to show. Does are now having fawns and they are vulnerable to predation from coyotes, wolves and bobcats. They have some protection at this time due to their scent glands not being fully developed. All of our land is 100% free range with no fences.

gremcatIf you haven't hunted in the SE it's an awesome experience. Probably exact opposite ofNorthern WTs. I spent a decade in NC and probably hunted close to Cpt P. It's an amazing thing for a northern boy to lookout in a soy or pea field and see 40+ WTs mid-season or have Bachelor herds of 10+ during bow season all while hunting in a t-shirt. A fantastic experience for youngsters as well. This was my first year back north and I definitely missed NC. Nicest folks you'll meet as well. Friends from the 'Dax hunted with me and were shocked when they killed 8 in 3 days including a respectable 8. Had an Officer stop and when we pulled over to tie off and instead of asking for a license he offered to help. They were shocked at the friendliness. Yes, miss my NC friends indeed.

Capt. PurvisJust had meeting with NC Wildlife Commissioner and this may be the last year that we get three buck tags in Eastern NC. I am sure that the Commission will keep the total tags at six with option to purchase five additional doe tags. If any of you are at the Side by Side Classic this week stop by our both.
15 June 2017, 15:25
Capt. PurvisI just acquired an additional 1,100 acres of prime deer hunting land in the Peanut Belt of NC. The majority of this farm is planted in soybeans. I have a few more openings for this coming season.
Due to all of the rain this spring and early summer the deer have a great amount of habitat. Antler growth increases when we have wet springs. Bucks are consistently eating my trophy rocks and from now to the end of August they can grow as much as an inch a day.

Seven bucks in this Bachelor group. Three in the back look the best. They are feeding on the soybeans and my minerals. Antler growth will continue for another seven to eight weeks. Continue to get the right amount of rain so crops, habitat and deer are looking good.
