An Easy Mid Asian Ibex Hunt Kazakhstan

Thought you were too old and unfit to do an Ibex hunt! Here is an offer for probably the least physical Mid Asian Ibex hunt you can go on. NO horses or camping in the cold required!

The hunt takes place around 3000 feet and thanks to a good network of roads in this area, hunters drive in 4wd drive vehicles and glass and spot and stalk. There is a very high density of Ibex and most hunters are successful in taking two ibex if they wish to.

Accommodations are in permanent hunting camps which are heated. Every camp has a sauna for washing and bathing. Toilet facilities may or may not be attached to the cabin.

5 full hunting days 1x1 basis - 4,250 euros. Non hunting companions 150 euros per day.

Trophy fees
• 1st Ibex 1,150 euros (any size)
• 2nd ibex 1,800 euros (if you wish to take a second ibex this has to be reserved when booking your hunt)
• Siberian roe deer 900 euros (not many in these areas)
• wolf 250 euros (target of opportunity)

Price includes
• Hunting license
• Provision of local veterinary certificate
• Meeting and greet and transport to camp and back
• Transportation in the hunting areas
• Services of guide
• Services of interpreter
• Three meals daily, sauna, accommodation
• Primary treatment

Price does not include
• Air travel
• Gun permit - 365 euros (it takes a month or so to obtain this so book your hunt well in advance)
• Visa support – 85 euros (visitors from some countries need an official invitation letter to visit Kazakhstan)
• Accommodation in hotels in Almaty
• Insurance
• Cultural programs
• Alcoholic drinks
• Packing and crating of the trophy (100 – 150 euros)
• Broker service and preparation of paperwork for trophy export - 550 euros
• Cost of air-freight (depends on the destination)

Dates: 1st August to 4th November

Getting there: From the states fly to Almaty, Kazakhstan via Turkey or Europe. You will be met at the airport and driven to camp apprx. 4-5 hours depending on the camp you will be hunting from.

What to bring
• Recommended calibres: 7mm Remington magnum, 270 Winchester magnum, 300 magnums
• Range finder
• Binoculars - if you have a second set bring it for the guide as some local guides do not have good binoculars.
• Spotting scope
• Camouflage outfit – pants and jacket
• Light mountain boots. It can be leather boots or high ankle boots with lacings, depending on the season of hunt.
• Warm underwear
• Gloves
• Sleeping bag
• Isothermal mat
• Binocular, range finder
• Small rucksack
• Hunting knife
• Camouflage cap
• First-aid kit. Owing to change of climate and water, it is advisable to carry some anti-diarrheal medicine.

Paperwork required to book the hunt
• Colour copy of your passport
• Copy of 4457 form showing your rifle (take the original with you)
• Make, model and calibre of rifle
• Statement with number of cartridges that you will be carrying – DO NOT TAKE MORE OR EVEN LESS CARTRIDGES THAN STATED.


Trophy shipment
Unlike other Asian destinations hunters cannot bring their trophies home with them. Kazakhstan is slow in sending trophies because of the time to process paperwork expect 9 months+.
