Arjun, Are the caribou in Greenland like a typical North American caribou or are they reindeer? Do you have a picture of two of what they look like?

These are excellent prices, you cannot touch it in Canada. I just did a muskox hunt this past winter and just the flight from Edmonton return to the town in the Arctic that we hunted from was a $2500 touch......... and we got a deal on the flight. Many of the straight single animal caribou and muskox hunts are as much as this combo hunt in Greenland, PLUS the equivalent flight costs that are included on this Greenland hunt. In addition extra nights in a hotel would be more like $300 a night in the Canadian Arctic. Great deal Arjun, I'd go on it if I could swing it. ______________________________________________ The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who are bereft of that gift.

Dogcat - in Europe we classify the Caribou as Artic Island Caribou under SCI. Trust that to apply in US / Canada context too. Great hunt and great location. I've done hunts there both as a resident when living in Nuuk and travelling from Denmark there. Do as Arjun say, go via Denmark, the extra flight with in Greenland that the Iceland trip entails is not worth it. Remember to bring a fishing rod, the Arctic Char fishing can be out of this world both in numbers and some very good sized fish too.

Huntfish: Why do you say that about the Iceland flight? I am curious as it seems to be less flying than going to Denmark. Is it cost or what? We may be going in late July to hike, thus my question.

Larryshores - It will work okay with the Icelandic flights, but you'll then have an additional flight in Greenland and most of the time it works out more expensive and taking longer time. If the weather is poor somewhere on Greenland then your internal flight is at risk of delays. Only so many planes and pilots to cover a huge territory. The Copenhagen flight works like a charm. But at the end of the day the call is whether you want to save a little time and money, eliminate a risk, or if you had a desire to see Iceland ( great place too )

We spent a week in Iceland last year. We had a fantastic time hiking and sightseeing. Why would there be an additional flight IN Greenland? I understand the flight TO Greenland. Isn't Copenhagen further away? I am just trying to understand.

Larry there is no direct flight to Kang from Iceland so you have to fly to another airport in Greenland and then fly to Kang (shortened name, even I cant pronounce the full name). Its doable but more expensive and hassle than going via Denmark. Thanks, Arjun

Besides, Copenhagen is a beautiful city well worth a couple of days( or more) of sightseeing. And the beautiful young ladies riding around town on bicycles are a real plus!!. I have never seen a city with so much "scenic" beauty! Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP
