I booked two guys 2x2 10 days for PG with Mokore Safaris on Mokore's Coutada 9 concession in Mozambique. One of the guys has had a situation pop up that will prevent him from going. The other guy still wants to go but would love to have someone to share travel and camp with.

The hunt is scheduled for 21-30 Sept '14 which is an ideal date in Coutada 9 for everything.

For the folks that don't know Coutada 9 is really a super destination for PG and the best unfenced PG hunting I've ever seen. Hunting is very good for the spiral horns with excellent big kudu, eland and bushbuck plus nyala. Sable, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, common reedbuck, common duiker, oribi and grysbok also occur in good numbers with red duiker plus suni possible. Coutada 9 also has the biggest warthogs and the most warthogs I've ever seen.

Coutada 9 is a huge nearly uninhabited wilderness area where Mokore hunts a core area of about 300,000 acres. The camp is a tented East African type affair with en suite bath and is very comfortable.

If your not looking for a typical PG hunt with lots Cruiser time but instead lots of walking and real stalking this is it. Here you can have a "Classic" safari experience with lions calling at night etc while still only paying a PG rate.

Pricing:

1X1 10 days PG/nyala or sable $700 per day
1x1 10 days PG $550 per day
Observer $250 per day
Rifle permit $250
Hunting license $35Road transfer Tete to Coutada 9 $400 each way per vehicle
10% VAT on daily rates
Dip/pack dependent on # of animals taken
Visa $150

Extras:

International airfare
Hotels as necessary before or after safari
All insurance
Trophy shipping

Trophy fees:

Sable $4000
Nyala $4000
Eland $2000
Kudu $1750
Bushbuck $800
Oribi $750
Hartebeest $2250
Reedbuck $850
Red duiker $850
Suni $850
Warthog $500
Impala $400
Bushpig $500
Common duiker $300
Grysbok $400
Baboon $300

Contact me anytime with your questions.

Biebs,

I said it was the best unfenced PG hunting I knew of. You gotta expect to pay!

If that kudu price isn't a typo, they'll be dying of old age, not a bullet.

I think it must be a typo.

If not, an outfitter tells me a kudu is $17,000, I will tell him to take a hike.

This sort of price is a definite deal breaker.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Gee Whiz! Guys I didn't even change my typo because I thought it was so obviously a typo on the kudu TF. Sorry! I'll change it back to $1,750 so nobody thinks a kudu can demand a trophy fee equal to a 80# elephant.

Got everyone going Mark. Definitely good prices, especially on Sable.

Already booked for Sept of '15 with Mokore for Sable in C9. '14 Does not work for me at all, or I would consider moving the year up. GL finding someone to go with the other client. If I can not convince my brother, father, or friends to join me, I may take to asking for volunteers to join me as well. Big Grin

I don't think my clients would have any problem with sharing with a Norwegian. He's coming from Alaska so you could meet up in JNB and go onto Tete together. PM me if that could work for you.
