Lion Safari in Mozambique

AREA: Cahora Bassa - Mozambique
OUTFITTER: Piet Otto Safaris
PH: Danny Enslin
AGENT: Hunting For Adventure
Tom Addleman
www.huntingforadventure.com

Here is a great opportunity for a free range Lion in Mozambique at a significantly discounted rate.

The hunt will take place on over 600,000 acres of wild Mozambique in the Cahora Bassa area (in corner where Mozambique meets up with Zambia and Zimbabwe). Over the last 6 years, success rate on male lion has been 100%. Yes, go back and read that sentence again.

The lion will be a mature male with some mane and lots of unique character and scars as free roaming lions have. Most have some mane hair and look much like a Zimbabwe lion (see picture of a cat from the area below).
The hunt will take place in the month of September at your availability. Eighteen days of hunting should give you ample opportunity for a nice lion. Shot distance should be under 100 yards and most likely much closer. Camp is beautifully situated on the banks of the lake with hippo and croc often spotted from camp.

If you are looking for a great opportunity at a wild and free range lion at a very reasonable price, this is your safari. It just doesn't get any better than this for an affordable free range lion safari.

Other game available:
Sharps Grysbok, Impala, Kudu, Chobe Bushbuck, Warthog, bushpig

SPECIFICS
18 days = $1,000 a day
Trophy Fee = $7,000
Transportation via air charter = $2,000
lion bait:
1) non exportable hippo for bait @ $1500
2) non exportable elephant for bait @ $4000
Government Charges - Rifle Lic $380 per rifle
Hunters Lic $280
Transport of trophy to shipping agent $480
TOTAL - $1,140

TOTAL = $28,140 USD excluding baits

Please see the attached pictures of camp and some successful hunters over the last few years.

There certainly are some rugged wild mountains up in that corner of the country, east of the Luangwa.

Karl, This is a hunt for a lion.

Mike, Buzz and Myles have used this camp in the past on occasion but it is the camp of Carel and Anita Maartens. Piet Otto safaris has worked with them from the beginning on booking hunters in this area.

Keep any questions coming. A few interested parties but as of yet this is still available.

Tom, your original post stated that you can shoot a cow hippo and a cow elephant for bait, hence my question. I understand it is a hunt for lion, but you advertised the hunting of cows above, and has now changed it.

I see. You can hunt female of certain species in Moz and not others. For instance, shooting a female sable gets you a fine of double the trophy fee. It is fine for some and not for others. I changed it just to clarify the information. Thanks, Tom
