Terry Anders/Forever African Safaris has a buffalo hunt available on Sentinel http://www.sentinellimpoposafaris.com/index.php
Sentinel is 80,000 acres of unfenced private bush on the Zim side of the Limpopo river. The buffalo hunting is very good and the atttached pictures are of a 45" buffalo Terry's client took on Sentinel about a week ago.

I have not been to Sentinel yet but Terry says the PG hunting is better than the Save which means the hunting is amazing for all the indigenous Zim species with the exception of tseesbe and common reedbuck.

Available dates are 13-23 oct '11

Pricing:

1x1 10 days $900 per day (when some of the Zim guys are charging $1,250 per day for buff this is pretty attractive)

MARS $10 per day
Dip/pack $500-$830 depending on # of trophies shot
Road transfer Bulawayo-Sentinel RT $600 per vehicle
Zim tax 4%

Trophy fees:

Note: Trophy fees are subject to change

lb 404,

Who knows? Maybe the guy was more comfortable sitting back there. Regardless the pix of the buff are very good and your right at 45" the buffalo needs no embellishment.

I think it's because some folks think it makes the animal look bigger, I don't know. I refuse to do pictures like that, and stand beside or right behind it, so folks here can see how big they REALLY are..

That bull is just on the cusp of being really tremendous. He's certainly wide, and I don't think I'd pass him, but a couple of years on him and he'd be old, worn down and really incredible. Though as he is he trumps anything hanging on my wall.

This sounds like a great deal for a buff.

Mark,

Are any buff hunts still available on the Sentinell? Still looking around for something I can afford this year.

Mark, is this the Sentinel ranch that borders on the Marimani CAMPFIRE Area near Breitbridge in SE Zim?

Very large number of impala with some excellent rams frequently seen. Zebra and eland as well. The owner is very vigorous in his anti-poaching patrols. Met him while hunting nearby in 2009. A great place to hunt, from what I could see, as we drove past on the boundary roads almost every day on the way to the Marimani.

I heard form my PH, former hunt manager for Bishop Stone - the adjacent property to Sentinel - that the buff herds in Sentinel and BS are healthy and prospering.

Mark,

If I did not already have plans for Zim in October I would be all over this. Terry is great to hunt with.
