Aaron:

Doesn't this concession border with Lukwati GR ?
I remember years back, George driving his tractor cleaning a hunting track on the other side of the river - it had to be the Rukwa as the Yeye was more like a large stream.

JUST SO HAPPENS I still have the TZ Game Conservation and Tourism Map that Larry Richards gave to me at one of the conventions in the early 90's.It is circa 1972 and shows all National Parks, Game Reserves (GR) and Game Controlled Areas (GCA) at the time.

At the time Lukwati was a GCA. It touches, barely at one point in the south by "Uwanda (Lake Rukwa)" GR. To the west was North Rukwa GCA and to the Northwest Rungwa River GCA.

Fujo - Correct my friend. Rukwa GR borders the Lukwati GR which lies to the east (I love that place) as well as Lake Rukwa in the south, and on the North/Northwest boundary is the Katavi National Park. The Rukwa GR is 1,974 sq. Kilometers.

Guys - Just FYI. The hunt has in fact been sold! A fellow AR member, who's also a friend/current client from NY has decided to join me. He has done one previous hunt with me in Zimbabwe just last year - so now he's up to trying TZ.

I'll leave his name out, unless he decides to give it - but he's a great guy. I look forward to spending a few weeks together with him in one of my favorite places in Africa.

Safari2 - Perhaps you should have signed up for the hunt with me? I can't imagine anyone who would have more fun or appreciation for the hunt/location, than yourself.

Yes it would be fun Aaron no doubt. I think my chance for TZ has passed. I really missed my chance back in the early 90's ..could have done a 21 day hunt with Cotton Gordon for 22k plus trophy fees..went to Zim instead for 7k less. Still had a good hunt in Zim but did not get a lion.

Well, we all have our limits - and each of us is different in that aspect. Something like this offer here, is what still makes it possible for me to hunt TZ, otherwise I may not be able to do it either. I love TZ, in the right place of course - but its not a cheap place to hunt!
