We started working with a new operator in AZ named Grand Canyon State Oufitters in 2009 and initailly we sent them 3 clients that overall where very happy. In '10 Tim Herald and I went there and shot a TV show that is out now on the ZONE an both of us were impressed with the area and effort put out by GCSO. They have only done 5 mule deer hunts on this farm so far and shot the 5 bucks pictured above so that is 100% success on bucks averaging 171 B&C. Not bad for a new company.

The hunt is conducted on 40,000 acres of agriculture in the middle of the desert near Glia Bend, AZ. The deer pour into this farm form the desert for the water and lush grazing. These deer are huge for desert deer and carry nice racks.

The operator now hasasecond farm at his disposal that may be even better.

I particularly like this hunt because there are quality deer, no snow and ass busting is prohibited. Yeah! Pleasant weather deer hunting. What a concept!

Grand Canyon was excellent in keeping the clients abreast of everything they needed to do and doing what they said they would do. All the logistics are important and these guys did a great job.

Is this a new operator as in just started outfitting or just new to safaritrackers? What do you mean when you state it could get better as time goes on? How large an area is hunted and where do you lodge and eat? Thanks for the clarification. That first pic is the monster we all dream about. He better be happy with that one.

'09 was the first year they did any mule deer hunts. I expect if the first year was as good as it was that in the future the hunintg could definitely be better as in bigger bucks. These hunts took place on about 10,000 acres of agriculatural land. There are 3 motels and restaurants within 15 minutes of the hunting area. Concerning the first buck please note the stunned expression on the hunters face.

I drew my tag with no points for this one. The outfitter is a great guy, and works his tail off, and I didn't kill the biggest buck there!

I hunt coyotes near that area and commonly have mule deer come into the call. It is the same kind of terrain, desert with farm fields. I saw the show while eating lunch today and had to look closely to tell it was not the same area.
Your deer are WAY bigger then the ones I see. Good job on all the work to find the right spot and get landowner permissions.

This area in AZ is pretty easy to draw. Out of the five hunters pictured above I was the only one that didn't get drawn on the first try with no points.
