I am offering this hunt through my company Cross Hair Consulting. The hunt provider will be David Mann of Horns and Thorns Outfitting.

This is a free range hunt for whitetail deer on private ground in Brackettville, Texas. Dave has beena solid outfitter for over 20 years and used to lease the Corazon Ranch as well as several others in Maverick County. This ranch remains as his only offering now.

The hunt is for 3 days and includes lodging (older ranch house or trailer, not at all fancy), food and is semi-guided. Meaning, he will take you to the stands, pick you up and help with gutting and skinning.

Hunters may take 1 buck, 2 does, and any predators for $1000. All game meat must be taken with you and put to use. He will not allow people to shoot does and not take the meat.

Hunting is from blinds/stands over feeders, water or high traffic areas. There is a large population of deer on this ranch and success is expected. Archers or rifle hunters are welcome, the price is the same.

There are no bait and switches here you pay what is posted and take what is there. **The quality of the bucks on this ranch are poor to average for the Hill Country/Brush Country transistion. Meaning basket racks 8 and 10 points scoring in the lower 100's to perhaps 120.

Bottom line is, this is not a trophy hunt but a fun hunt for a family, friends or simply for folks wanting to have a good time at a budget minded price. If you try to make it more than this you will be disappointed and no one wants that.

I have sent Dave hunters for many years, it has been five years since I last hunted with him. I believe this hunt is regularly $1500 or $1750. Like I said, it will not be fancy, but you will be treated well by an honest host, at a great price.
