Is anyone going to Zim next year during the World cup? Have you checked ticket availability and prices? If you haven't, your in for a shock!!

sevenmagltd.Sorry, had a brain fort. Wrong category!

pinotguyI would imagine prices are sky-high in Namibia and RSA during that time-frame as well. IMO, you're absolutely crazy trying to travel to Southern Africa next year while the World Cup is happening.

The tournament starts the first part of June ending on July 11th. The only way I know is because I booked a hunt in August.
I saw where prices into Joburg during that time were around $3500-4000.

Dang LDK I need your help then!
I just checked Delta.com on a trip from ATL to Joburg from June 14, 2010 thru June 24, 2010, which I thought would be a typical time for a 7 day safari and the cheapest cost I got was $3,712.20.

sevenmagltd.Soccer SUCKS!!!
Soccer doesn't suck, its all about time management and proper planning to avoid the law of supply and demand where demand exceeds supply. When that happens, prices go up. As we have seen with the downturn in the economy worldwide supply is exceeding demand for hunts, which is why pricing a hunt is very favorable right now. Personally, I would prefer a balanced supply and demand where the hunter can go on a quality hunt for a reasonable price and the outfitter can make a reasonable living. Airline tickets are always more expensive on average to Africa from the US during June, July and August as that is the height of travel season here in the US. Compare those summer prices to those in Jan, Feb and March and you will see a difference.
