Hi All,

I'm new to the site & forum, have been a silent observer for a little while now. Was referred by a friend and hunter from Iowa in the US for help with reloading and he also mentioned this section.
Thanks firstly to AR for providing a free platform for outfitters to advertise offers, I think that's great!

Secondly I did a quick search for references our outfit and have found quite a few. Most reviews were favorable with numerous return clients and others intending to do so.
The search also revealed the presence of our US booking agent, Todd Rathner from the T. Jeffry Safari Co.

Kalahari Hunting Safaris operates in the southeast and central (Khomas Hochland) areas of Namibia and have in excess of 100 000 acres of pristine terrain available to hunt quality specimens of various plains game.
The hosts, co-owners and licensed PH's are Johan Kotze, Deon van Wyk and Jean van Rooyen. Mabel Kotze is the hostess and is renowned for her excellent cooking. Hendrik Kotze, Johan's son, and Louw van Wyk (myself), Deon's son are also licensed PH's.

@ Sharpshooter - pretty sure it will run again next season, there might be a few tweaks or changes depending on availability of game, rains and such. Hope to hear from you then!

@ Grumulkin - replied to the PM.

Heck of a deal, or at least sounds like that to me. Too bad it wasn't available earlier in the year.

To bad I'm already booked and committed for this year and next year for hunts.

I especially like the gemsbok opportunities since I consider them my jinx animals due to having lost a couple on previous Africa trips.

Hope those who do get to take you up on this special have a great trip and collect some good trophies.

By the way, how long (number of days?) are the first two special hunts for?

@ Bisonhunter - the first two hunts are both 5 days, it says so in the original post but the info is all bunched up so easy to miss.

@ Shaun - thanks for the heads up! I'll give your regards to all (and maybe poke my dad in the ribs to see if he can still jump...) and it will be good to see you again.
Say hi to your dad and your friend with the mustache that laughs a lot (also Sean, if I recall correctly)

@ larrys - Hi Larry! Glad you guys are coming here again, also looking forward to your visit! Pity Zach can't join this time, enjoyed having him around the last time. See you soon, good luck with the long flights.
(P.S. I like those smileys!)

@ Nakihunter - Like mentioned before, the offers should run next year as well with maybe a few minor tweaks. Hope you can make your African safari happen.

my son bradley and i hunted with johan in 2008. lots of game. great facility. everything was top drawer. don't expect to loose weight while u are there! mabel will not permit it.

our package was the 2 hunteer deal and in the end our salt stack included a 43 in female gemsbuck and a 40 in male. i forget the inches on the management springbuck but they were much larger than a couple of trophy springs i had previously taken in rsa.

the sand dunes are just awesome.

my regards to johan, mabel and hendrik. i'll do this one again someday.

@ Larry - Zeb and warthog should be OK and any 1st time hunter under your tutelage should do just fine.
I know about the video yes, hope you guys aim to be the stars because I don't consider myself very good shooting material in that case! Big Grin

@ butchbuck - thanks for the kind words and I'll send your regards to them all.

If you guys haven't yet, please tell your friends to come and have a look too! Thanks!

This will be my third safari with KHS. The hunting is great. The food is fantastic. One of the perc's is one of the PH's in the Khomas is an MD and so is his wife, the cook.

The ride in the doon buggies (hunting trucks) is worth the trip, the Kalihari and it's doons, are beautiful. Especially if Henrik (Mad Max) Kotze is your driver.

If big Kudu, Mountain Zebra and big Gemsbuck are of interest this is the place to go.

I will be there in 10 days to keep an eye on Larrys01. I'm also bringing a first time in Africa hunter. This will be a whole pile of stories, with video, lots of laughs....Tom

Oh Yea someone needs to get a Eland just before we arrive, that stuff is the best of all eating!! Even better than Kalahari calamari.

Tapper2 & Larrys01 still happily hunting away down in the Kalahari, had good fun hunting with them in the Khomas Hochland. They are due to return to the States after a quick visit to Cape Town.

Highlight was a stalk on a herd of Hartmann, a hunter and myself got 65yards from a mare and he took her with a great front-on lung shot. On the way we spooked a couple of warthog (10-20yards!) but luckily they didn't alert the zeb.
