I have a client who has to move his hunt, outfitter wants to fill this spot, so, he is offering a very nice incentive to anyone who can come for these dates. (There is a little bit of flexibility with the dates)

Dates:23rd to 31st May, 2013.

Ok, so to avoid the questions I always get ...
1. No, you can not do this next year!
2. No, you can not do this in September or any other date outside of this window, (except for possibly moving the dates a back or forth a bit.)
3. No, if you are booked on this hunt, he will not give you a free Kudu and Eland because you saw this post.
4. No you can't move your booked hunt to these dates and get the discount ... that sort of defeats the purpose.

But, thanks for asking. Wink

If you can only do this as a 1x1, call me and we can discuss it. It is possible under the right circumstances.

Ok, details:

Outfitter: Tholo Safaris, Botswana 110,000 acre ranch. This place has more huge Kudu than I have ever seen anywhere in Africa. Hands down ... ever. On my hunt, I literally saw 5-10 50" + Kudu Bulls EVERY DAY!

This place is sick with Eland! The best Eland hunt I know of. They use Bushman trackers to hunt the Eland here. Do a search for "Tholo Safaris" on AR and you will find some reports.

Cost:
Day Rates
$425 per/day - 1x1
$325 per day/person - 2x1
$200 per day for observers
$100 per day for cameraman joining the safari

This Kudu and Eland is to be split between the two hunters, just to be clear.

INCLUDED IN THE DAILY RATE:
Meeting on arrival in Maun.
Full services of your professional hunter.
Full camp and staff services.
Full accommodations.
Meals and drinks local alcohol, in moderation
Daily laundry in camp.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE DAILY RATE:
Trophy fees on animals killed or wounded.
Dip & Pack
Air freight of trophies to final destination
Gun import permits of $150 per gun.
Gratuities
Ammunition. Shotgun 12g & 20g @ $1 per round.
Hotel costs before and after safari contract dates.
Road transport from Maun to camp and return $600
Road transportation from Windhoek $950 Round trip
(currently)12% Botswana government VAT on total bill

Blesbuck $650*
Duiker $ 350
Eland $ 1500
Ostrich $ 500

I've never shot an eland. Anyone wish to do a 2/1 with me (and I get the eland)...

If anyone is thinking about their first safari, I'd love to join them (toting my own freight, of course) and I'd even do camera duty. I've hunted with several folks (including my daughters) on their first trip and would like to share the joys of a newbie, again!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Ok, maybe some clarification is due here.

The outfitter does expect that you will shoot some additional animals. I take for granted that this is the case.

So, instead of forcing a package on someone with X number of animals and discount it by the cost of a Kudu and Eland, I am leaving it up to the hunter to choose what he wants.

On the final bill, 1 Eland and 1 Kudu will be given at no charge. It is up to the hunters to decide who gets what.

Or, the total savings of $2700 will be split between the two hunters if they take Eland and Kudu.

Any questions, just call or email.

Thanks.

I am not going to charge any extra to have JudgeG on the hunt.

I know, it's generous of me. No problem. Wink

Nor will I discount it because you chose to take JudgeG with you. (Sorry Ernest, I couldn't help myself Big Grin )

Yes, he has a ton of bowblinds over waterholes. Probably one of the best bowhunts I have in Africa. Most (not all) bowhunts are on smaller properties where the game must drink from a certain water source.

At last count he had 25 bow blinds on his property. He may have more now. All but one or two were concrete, ground level blinds with vertical shooting slits.

You can even do a combo. Sit in the bowblind morning/evening and rifle hunt in the mid-day.

You have to experience the Bushman trackers hunting Eland. Hands down the highlight of the hunt.

I hunted there last spring.

AMAZING place, hands down.

The eland are amazing and a wonderful hunt behind the bushman trackers.

Lots and lots of kudu.

Heck, lots and lots of everything.

If you go, take a shotgun and pop a few birds. I wish I had.

any chance of including a cape buff on this oneÉ

No politician who supports gun control should recieve armed protection paid for by those he is trying to disarm.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-scotch in one hand-Chocolate in the other-body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO-HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!"

Congrats! You will enjoy your hunt in Africa and with the Judge immensley! Have Ernest bring his daughters along, as they are far nicer and much, much easier to look at than he is! LOL!!

Only reasonable way to include a Buff is to buy a Buff hunt in another country. Bots Buff are pricey, limited, and most are sold out well in advance. Now that most every Buffalo in Bots will be done dor after this year, any leftovers were probably sold.

Zim or Moz. I have had a coule guys do a split hunt, hunting here and then a Buff or Elephant hunt in another country.

Invader is in! Unfortunately, the Judge had a conflict and can't make it.

Invader is going to do this as a 1x1, there is room in camp for another 1x1, or 2x1 with or without observers.

Anyone interested, let me know.

Just for my clarification, is one slot still open or both? If one, can I come along with my son as the hunter and myself as an observer/camp follower or bird hunter and how much would either option cost if available? What is the expectation of "additional animals" composed of monetarily speaking?

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Wendell - Man, this fits me PERFECT (A dream come true for sure). But look, can I move this to August - I swamped until then ok? Actually can I do it August 2014? Great man, thanks!!!

I actually have myself and 2 buddies, so either I need two free Eland or would it be ok if we all start shooting at the same time???

I totally understand the shooting additional animal thing, so we'll take 2 Jackals as well.

According to you this place is "sick with Eland", so is that something we need to be worried about? Is it contagious by chance?

Lastly, please send the contract/bill to the attention of Dave Fulson - at Safari Classics in Dallas, TX.

P.S. - Man, you were fat back then! I like the new/improved "slimmer" Wendell.

Aaron, yea, anything you want, just put it on your schedule and have Dave send me a $30k trophy fee deposit, and you can move it anywhere you like.

BTW, I wasn't fat, I was fluffy.
