Tony Lee/Westwind Guide Service has one spring grizzly opening for 21-30 May '13. This hunt will be conducted in Unit 13 250 miles north of Anchorage. The hunt will be all spot and stalk with far more glassing than hiking. Tony feels each hunter should have 1-3 shooting opportunities with realistic expectation being for a bear squaring 7'-7.5' with larger definitely possible. Coats at this time will be prime making for a beautiful rug or life size mount.

Hunters will pick up a rental car in Anchorage and drive to Tony's strip for the Cub flight into camp.

So you've got to rent a car for ten days just to leave it parked at Tony's strip? Seems kind of inefficient doesn't it?

I personally prefer to not rent a car just for the reason you mentioned but it is not uncommon in the Western US and Alaska to have to rent a car and drive to camp or a jumping off place. I did just that one time when I hunted sheep out of Tok, AK.

No cloak and dagger at all. Tony lives in Wasilla but his jumping off spot for this particular hunt is much further north in a pretty remote spot but still on the road system. He has a camp there, a large amount of fuel etc and he just does not want to make the location public knowledge. That doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. If you really are interested in the hunt let me know and I'll get you exact directions.
