360 bull

No monster but spot and stalk with a bow...........

If your an archer, in top shape and not afraid to work this is a very good hunt with an almost assured opportunity at a big bull. I had a one hunter on this hunt last year. He had 5 opportunities and arrowed the 5th bull pictured at 15 feet.

The outfitter Bruce Duncan/Cold Trail LLC is taking two hunters only on the historic peak rut dates of Sept 16-23 offering 8 full hunting days. My client from '18 is returning so that leaves one opening.

One hunter will hunt from the outfitter's lodge and the other from a remote wall tent camp.

This hunt is somewhat unique in that you can shoot two elk. The 2nd elk as well as a whitetail and black bear are offered on a trophy fee basis. My client last year on a 6 day hunt shot his elk, a whitetail via spot and stalk and nearly killed a black bear. In '19 the remote camp is located near an area where you very likely will kill a black bear if you want to use a rifle as they'll be very visible in the alpine. Also there is no need to buy all tags ahead of time as an elk tag can be used for a deer or bear should you have an opportunity and you can just buy another elk tag.

Let me stress that you'll be walking all day in rough country and if you can go you'll have a great hunt. If you can't it's not for you. Here I need to say the outfitter will be doing one of the hunts himself and he's in his 50's but very fit.
