If you have ever wanted to hunt a truly exceptional sable bull, you have found the right place! This private ranch has some fantastic Sable and will be open to hunting for the first time this year. The hunting area is approximately 8000 acres with over 10 miles of river frontage making up the main boundary. The property is located on the Kafue River, approximately 100 km North West of Kafue National Park. There are no internal fences and no commercial farming takes place on the property (although there is perimeter fencing). The operation has a good road network throughout the property making use of natural terrain features. The closest town is Mpongwe, a 5 hour drive from Lusaka – 4 hours hard surface road from Lusaka to Mpongwe and then 1.5 hour bush track. For those on a shorter time frame, we do offer the option of landing at an airstrip 1.5 hours drive from the ranch.

The vegetation is miombo woodland with extensive dambos and flood plains along the river. Fishing and Crocodile viewing is excellent along the river and dam area. This area boasts fantastic sable along with defassa waterbuck, Kafue lechwe, duiker, blue duiker, yellow back duiker, bushbuck, puku, reedbuck, zebra, eland, warthog, jackal and wide variety of birdlife. Bird hunts are available.

Hunting versus game management – this operator specializes in sable and therefore they are monitoring their diverse gene pool very closely. They are looking at a long term strategy and will only be taking off excess animals. Each year they have a set quota to ensure continuous yearly hunts. Yearly game counts and the assessment of trophy size are estimated on all species, and a yearly quota will be released, being private land we are assured of long term ideals.

Sorry for the mish-mash confusion. The price for the package includes the daily rates, trophy fees, etc for the four animals listed. $15,700

I only posted the pricelist at the bottom for options of other animals or if a guy just wants to come hunt and pay the daily rate of $500 and shoot off of the price list. I hope that clears it up some.

Does this game farm have a name?

Andrew,

The name of the property is Takeri. The PH might vary depending on dates. Currently it would most likely be Michael Borman.

505, Yes. To comply with current zambian regulations the farm is fenced.

Andrew, Patsy comes highly recommended. Takeri should be hunted later in the season- it stays wet till mid August. Derick
