Chris Furia/Vision Quest Hunts in Trinidad, CO can offer two archerY elk hunts with Over The Counter tags available.

These hunts are not the traditional elk hunt in the mountains and presents a unique experience. The elk come to one of Chris's ranches which is mostly pasture land to rut. The country is very open so a good bit of stalking and crawling will be necessary but calling can be effective also. Shots will be 40-80 yards but Chris is very confident that even booked as a 2x1 both archers with sufficient skill will have a opportunity at a 300-320 class bull with much larger possible.

The La Quinta in Trinidad will be your base camp and all food and drink will be included. I've had several clients stay there and they've all been very comfortable.

Season runs from last weekend of Aug through most of Sept. You can pick any five days in the season but Chris says dates around the middle of Sept should be most productive.
