Some of the best BC bear hunting in the province is at Tatlayoko Lake valley. With large bears and one of the highest concentations of blacks and grizzlies in the province.
You will have your own modern log cabin
for you and your hunting partner.
All meals will be at the main house cooked by my wife.
A usual day is using hounds for the morning hunt and spot and stalking during the evening hunt. This is a two bear area and once both hunters have shot their first bear a second can be taken for a trohpy fee.
You may want a wolf tag in your pocket as they are open as well and there is no charge if you connect.

WE also have the capabilities of taking wheelchair bound hunters on a hunt of a lifetime as we proved with Tred Barta last spring. One of our cabins has a wheel chair accessable shower and wheelchair ramps. As well the main house is equipped with ramps as well.
There may be an extra charge if a second person is required to help during this hunt.
This will be discussed on an individual basis.

These 5 bears in the pictures took a total of 12 days to kill. All guided by myself. The smallest is 6'3" the largest is 6'11".
There are spots left and I will take 1 one 1 hunts as well.
This is by far the best valued hunt on the market and you don't have to watch a bucket of donuts either.

Bump for hunting with hounds if you haven't done it you need to give it a try. It is a blast

Doug - You mentioned this was a "premium" bear hunt. Do you have any "regular" bear hunts and what is the difference? Just wondering? Thanks.

The area is premium as well as you get the dogs and spot and stalk.
First class cabins and great food. Tatlayoko Lake is close enough to the salmon rivers to get the big bears but high enough and inland enough to get premium hides.
Your guide is premium also so the hunt must be premium....... make sense.

The bottom line is, buying my concession this year I need to put hunters through the door to get the word out what a great hunt this is.
this is why the price is so low.
I have guided AR guys in the past when i leased the same area, PM me if you need references.

This is a premium area, and Doug runs a top notch operation in all aspects. The cost of this hunt is a bargain IMO, just seeing the dogs work is worth the money, never mind the fact there are huge bears in this area.

Great reply Doug, love the sense of humor. I'll keep your place in mind for sure come next year. All booked up for 2012 it seems for now.

I have a new batch of youg dogs I have been working with to add to the mix. Should be quite a show at the tree.


I do a lot of spot and stalk and don't use dogs if the client doen't want to. I just suggest trying one bear with dogs just so you can say you tried it.

You can'y compare this hunt to a baited hunt, there is non stop action, no sitting around watching the baits. All day productive bear hunting.

I need guys this spring so a price reduction once agoin!!!
