My name is Jim Welles. I own and operate JFW Ranch Consulting, LLC, with my wife Kelly at 10600 Eagle Rock Ave, Albuquerque, NM 87122. My office phone number is 505.294.7861. My cell number is 505-967-6562. Our e-mail address is JFWRC@comcast.net. Kelly and I have been guiding and outfitting in NM over 25 years now.

We currently have openings for two elk hunters wanting the OCT 6 Muzzy or the OCT 13 First Rifle in New Mexico's Game Management Unit 52. This unit is in north central NM and sits below the Colorado Border. This hunt is guided only and includes landowner authorizations in the price. The offering does not include your NR State License at $630, meals or lodging. However, we have access to a little cabin right in the middle of the action for $75/night for both people. Bring your buddy and go elk hunt at the best time for elk in this unit. If you can use a muzzy, the OCT 6 timeframe is prime rut. The OCT 13 timeframe is good as well and you can bring your rifle. You must pick one timeframe or the other and the hunt is 5 days long. You will be guided 2x1 by one of our pros.

A good bull in this unit is 270-300. An exceptional bull will be 320-340 and yes we have seen them. The biggest we have ever taken is 325. If you have your sights on a nice 6x6 in this unit, you best squeeze the trigger.

The cost for both (2) hunters is $9,500 + NM Gross Receipts tax for a total to us of $10,111.56 or $5,055.78 EACH. You tell me where you can find a better bargain in a good NM Elk unit with a LO permit right now?

Please contact me at JFWRC@comcast.net or my cell at 505-967-6562 if you have any interest.

So, $5,055.78 plus license 630.00 + lodging 75.00 x5 or 6 days + food + tip, if given, is well over $6,000.00 plus hunt.

Yes sir-

You don't have to stay in the cabin. You could camp. If you do not want a guide we could price the LO Tags alone.

We can break this down to make it less dollars if you would like.

Please take a moment and go price NM LO Tags online.

With Respect,

Jim

PS-Thank you for your service!

This is a good deal for this area. Lots of big elk.

From what I’ve seen this is barely over the cost of a landowner tag. Doubt anyone will find a better deal.

Success rates per the Game and Fish website are located at the link below. Be sure you look at Unit 52 Muzzy and First Rifle.

To the outfitter posting. Three questions.
1. How long have you been operating in 52?
2. What is your hunters success rate?
3. Are you hunting all public?

Thanks in advance.

Our GMU 52 guide has just been contracted to do a desert bighorn hunt here in NM. As such, we are changing this offering to a LO Authorization type hunt with your having the option to stay at the cabin. Again, to be clear, this will be a DIY offering with LO tags, no guiding......however, you will be given tips on where to hunt in the unit.

The asking price of the 2 tags is $3,500 each + NMGRT Tax. or $7,453.25.
