Bezoard Ibex in Turkey

In light of the recent difficulties to hunt in Iran, our client switched destinations and shot a very nice Bezoard Ibex in Turkey over the weekend.

46.45"

Pricing for this hunt is as follows:

36-41" - 8.900 Euros
42" - 47"- 11.900 Euros
48" + - 15.900 Euros

Todays exchange rate 1 euro = $1.31

Observer 1000 Euros
Season - September 1st - March 31st
5 full hunting days

Fly to Istanbul where you will enter the country and clear your rifles and then take an approximate 1hr local commerical flight depending on your hunting area.

Accomodation in comfortable local hotels, fly camp or local village houses.

You can also combine this hunt with wildboar as well for an extra fee.

Turkey is a very safe, friendly country and it would be nice to combine this hunt with some sight seeing as well.

Is there a big difference to their coats now in the winter compared to the month of October.

In length and thickness of the hair, yes, there is a marked difference between summer and winter coats. The difference in colour is less striking - although mostly present.

Winter coats are mostly considered superior for mounting. A word of caution, though... A billy shot in (or around) the rut will emanate a certain "odor" - even when skin has been tanned and mounted. Place your mount in a well aired place, or be prepared for an argument with the missus of the house...

The above is true to some extent of all ibex, but bezoar seem to take the price in this respect. I'd still dearly like to shoot one, though. Not least because of the difference in horn configuration compared to most other ibex.

If you shoot a trophy over 48" is the price still the same(15900euro) or its it another case of $$$$$ per inch over the 48". I am intrested and would like a large trophy but i don't want to have to worry about the tape being run over the trophy at the end and find i need to sell my liver to fund it.thanks
