Guys,

Mokore Safaris has some non-trophy buffalo bull hunts left on their Save Valley Conservancy area. These bulls will be hard bossed mature bulls but will just have a spread of less than 34 inches.

Anybody that has followed AR for anytime knows that Mokore's reputation is stellar and the hunting on the Save is excellent to superb for almost all of Zimbabwe's indigenous species. If your not familiar with Mokore and the Save do A quick search here on AR and you'll find loads of positive material.

Dates are available throughout the season at this time.

1X1 5 DAYS EXPORTABLE BULL $9,500 INCL DAILY AND TROPHY FEE

1X1 5 DAYS NON-EXPORTABLE BULL $8,500 INCL DAILY TROPHY FEE

A TROPHY BUFF SAME AREA SAME EVERYTHING IS $18,000

Extras:

Observers $250 per day
Road transfer Harare-SVC and return $1,000
Conservation levy $20 per person per day
4% Zim tax on daily and trophy fees
Hotels before or after the safari as necessary
Dip/pack
International airfare
Trophy shipping
All insurances

If you pick the non-export hunt you also don't pay any dip/pack or trophy shipping saving you even more. If you have a little more room in your budget I might suggest adding a few days for PG at the $550 per day PG rate. That would make a great and pretty inexpensive safari.

Trophy fees:

Eland $1,950
Giraffe $1,750
Kudu $1,950
Zebra $950
Wildebeest $750
Bushbuck $950
Klipspringer $700
Warthog $500
Impala $250
Duiker $290
Grysbok $375
Baboon $50
Jackal $275
Bushpig $500

Pete I would in a heart beat.

Leon DuPlessis at Save Safaris started calling me Sango Mike at dsc when I went out for dinner with Larry shores instead of him.

I cannot hunt the save and not hunt with him and unlike academy no one prices matches in the safari business.

This is an excellent value - top area and great outfitter. Probably the best deal on ar for Dg hunting in a while.

Guys,

Gary Duckworth just WhatsApped me that he has 3 non-trophy bulls in Sengwa Research also. Either is a great destination.

I can attest to the number of buffalo at Mokore, we did a 10 day hunt there last September and saw easily 400 to 500 buffalo. We did 17 stalks looking for the one I wanted, which I shot on day 7. Lots and lots of buffalo. Lots of kudu and saw 6 rhino and 9 lions, plus a leopard on a fresh killed impala. I want to go back but can't do it this year. Really nice place.

Excuse my ignorance, but
1: Is it a "non-exportable" buff because of disease (foot and mouth, corridor)?
2: Do the "exportable" and "non-exportable" buff get hunted in different areas?
3: If not, at what stage would you know the buff you are taking aim at is "exportable" or "non-exportable"?

It seems like an affordable hunt with a great outfitter!!

Expat,

Exportable or not it's up to you. It just costs a $1,000 more for the hunt if your going to export the buffalo. You are hunting the same buffalo in the same manner.

The point is for $8,500 you can have a classical buffalo hunt but for a low price and your not paying any dip/pack, shipping, documentation and taxidermy fees saving you a bundle. Even if you do want the cape and horns the hunt is a hair over 1/2 of what the normal 10 day buff hunt goes for.

Folks,

As DUX has posted about the "non-trophy" buffalo Mokore offers and folks have inquired about the price I thought I'd bring this deal to the top again.
