I have helped Nixon Dzingai owner of SSG Safaris in Chiredzi, Zimbabwe by booking hunts for him since 2009. Many guys here on AR have taken advantage of these offers. Due to him receiving camp permits late in the season he has quota available in his Malapati Camp. This area produces excellent trophy buffalo. I have had hunters take buffalo up to 48" while hunting this camp.
Here is the blowout pricing:

OFFER #1} 7 days actual hunting INCLUDING ONE buffalo trophy fees for $7500. A second buffalo can be killed for $4500. The only extras are Harare to camp transportation for $500 per person, 4% Government fees in day rate($200) and 2% VAT on trophy fees for animals killed or lost. $500 trophy handling fee covers any animals killed that you want to get shipped to you. No fee if you leave the heads in Zim.

OFFER #2} 10 days hunting for INCLUDING one buffalo trophy fee for $9500. A second buffalo can be killed for $4500. The only extras are Harare to camp transportation for $500 per person, 4% Government fees in day rate($280) and 2% VAT on trophy fees for animals killed or lost. $500 trophy handling fee covers any animals killed that you want to get shipped to you. No fee if you leave the heads in Zim.

If no buffalo is killed on either offer you will be returned $2500 from the base hunt price.

Other animals can be taken on these hunts for the regular trophy fee cost if quota is available.
Trophy Fees for animals killed or wounded lost:
Buffalo 4500
Genet cat 200
Klipspringer 700
Bushbuck 1000
Hippo 5000

Certainly a good value hunt.
My concern is why prepay the "expected trophy fee"in advance on the other animals, even if held in escrow???

Why is this required???

Surely the trophy fees could be paid in camp, or even wired before the end of the safari.

I would never "prepay"a trophy fee.

Cheers

Nick

I have hunted with Nixon 3 times and usually prepay a large part of my expected trophy fees directly to Nixon. That is based on my experience with Nixon, who is totally honest, and knowing that Nixon's area is excellent. I have left Nixon owing him money and no problem. I just wired the full amount when I got home. I have done business with Bobby and would trust him to hold my trophy fees.

I have had great success hunting with Nixon and can highly recommend him and the areas he hunts.

The reasons for prepaying the fees are several.

1) The policy of Zimbabwe is not to allow large quantities of CASH to leave their country once it is in Zimbabwe. The prepayment is to prevent the client from any sort of problem with Zim customs and prevent any chance confiscation of their cash.

2) Travelers checks are not accepted due to a previous issue of a dishonest client stating his checks were stolen after he completed his hunt then paid TF's with them.

3) Nixon has in the past allowed clients to pay their TF's after they return home by wire transfer. This is not a problem if the client has hunted with SSG previously.

4) I have held TF money for many clients. Never a hitch and all have been satisfied with the service.

If you do not want to abide by the terms of the offer that's fine. You choose not to go on this particular hunt. Thanks for the input.

Looking back at hunts with Nixon, the only problem I remember was with a client who did not pay what he should have after the safari.

Never heard of any report of it happening the other way round.

I've done plenty of DG safaris in Zim and know all about the processes over there.

There is no problem carrying US cash in and out of the country, as long as its declared when entering on the appropriate form when entering immigration controls.

If it's declared on the way in it can go out without any problem.

I've always paid trophy fees by wire when I return home.
Done this with outfitters in Zim and Namibia for ele/ buff trophy fees , and
also when hunting with them for the first time.

Your offer is well priced , commensurate with the time of year being HOT and the beginning of the rainy season. This makes the hunting tricky.i hunted in Zim last Nov/Dec, and found it difficult to track because of the rains experienced most nights and some days. We were successful on buff, multiple ele and plains game but it was a challenge at times.

No doubt that Nixons area has produced big buff., and the possibility of a big one is real.

The conditions at that time of year are reflected in the price of the hunt offer.

I sincerely wish you Good luck with selling the hunt.

Cheers

Nick

Great deal. If only it were earlier in the year. Hunting in 100 degree heat just isn't for me. If you're more heat tolerant then go for it. You won't find a better deal on a Buffalo.

Honest guy, unbelievable hunting areas
Begno is absolutely right
No worries whatsoever, besides Nixon is like a Mayor in that area

This is one heck of a deal. I have hunted with Nixon twice. He is honest and very fair. On both of my hunts I was in camp late October to early November. The only negative is that his cabins ave metal roofs and are very hot most nights making sleeping some what difficult.

Great hunt, great outfitter. I've seen some really big bulls while hunting with Nixon.

I think the world of Nixon as well, but it is my understanding that he has lost Malapati. Are these hunts in Malapati or in one of the out-lying communal areas?

Nixon didn't loose Malapati. These hunts are in the Malapati camp with hunting in the Malapati Safari Area. A faction working with Parks was trying to close hunting in the area but the Chiredzi District stepped up as they have control of the permitting not National Parks. His permit was issued in July and is good for more years. I sent hunters with Nixon this fall who hunted Malapati. Since the permit was issued later in the season he is trying to get some hunters in and animals taken for 2017.
