Moose hunts are also conducted in November and December using snow mobiles. We offer this hunt as a minimum 10 day hunt. All prices quoted are in Euros 3. 50% deposit required to book the hunt and confirm your dates * For hunters looking for exceptional trophies, we offer a custom hunt to access very remote areas which will incur extra travel time and expense. Please discuss this option with us. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, there has been a migration of the rural population to the larger cities, as a result of this the transport system has also deteriorated, hence the difficulty and added expense to access more remote areas. Saeed, The customized remote hunt is developed in conjunction with the client or clients, it depends on the number of hunters, the timing, what local resources are available at the time, would they be willing to do a long drive over rough roads v/s fly in and so on. Would they be willing to sleep on the ground and eat tinned food, etc. It's not something the outfitter offers on a regular basis, but is willing to do for someone who is serious and says he wants a crack at the biggest moose thats out there whatever the cost maybe. If someone is ready to go I will be more than happy to work out all the details and post the cost of the hunt here, otherwise I would just be throwing a number out there. Hope thats ok. $15,000 in Russia is a lot of loot for a moose, no matter his size. Think about how far that much money goes there. Thats about 40% more cost than a comparable hunt in Alaska for much the same size game. I like the sleeping on the ground and eat out of a can for even more money. All that glitters is not gold.

Hi there, You can either bring them back with you or we can ship them back later. Fauna and Flora in NY informed me that they can meet a returning hunter at JFK airport to assist with the clearing. Regards, Arjun Tel: NY 845 259 3628

A bit of whining on this thread that surprises me.... A) A good part of Russia is not like the cold-war era anymore and they are as subject to the bad side of economic growth and development as the rest of us (namely RISING prices!). My point being that $15000 in Russia does NOT go nearly as far as it probably once did just a very few years ago. B) I am not at ALL sure that a truly great area in the Yukon or Alaska might not cost as much or even more than this hunt. My Outfitter in the Yukon was selling Moose for $12,000 or so in the pre-financial crisis era. Might easily be $15,000 now with the fall of the US dollar and all. Imagine, as an outfitter in Canada or elsewhere, you saw your profits eaten up by 25% in just exchange rate fluctuations! Solution? That $10,000 moose hunt that you used to get in Russia just became $12,500 or much more when you factor in inflation and other economic changes. C) Assuming they had the disposable income, anyone who would NOT plunk down $15,000 for an honest and reasonable shot at a moose like that is out of their mind. It's a bit like saying that $20,000 is "too much" for a Tanzania cape buffalo hunt.....it just depends WHERE in Tanzania doesn't it? Masailand? $20,000 and they sell them all day long. $20,000 in the Selous.....not so much.

I've hunted moose in some of the most remote parts of AK 7 times and have yet to see a moose near that size. Just hunting costs without getting there, motels prior/post,etc. has run me more than $70K so far on this search for a 70+" bull, $15Ksounds cheap!!!!!!

A quick search on google gave me quite a few outfits in Alaska that charge $15,000 and more for a moose hunt. I am also sure there are cheap mooseless hunts to be had in Alaska. I met quite a few long faced hunters at Anchorage airport a couple of months ago who had probably been on them! I even heard firsthand of one outfit operating out of Dillingham, if I remember the figures right 11 hunters got 2 moose! Anyway I am not here to comment on what others can and can't do this is what we can offer. Thanks for looking. Arjun

Just a quick note that for a $10,000 Moose hunt 10 years ago to cost $15,000 only necessitates about a 4% inflation rate. As Russia has grown, something tells me their annual rate was much higher. Add in dollar devaluation and russian outfitters in real terms are probably making LESS than they were 10 years ago on hunts like this.

Woodrow S Please PM me with some details on Alaska outfitters offering 70" moose for a 10 day hunt for under $10,000.( 40% Less than the $15,000) Most of the moose in the catagory come from the Yukon and most outfitters there are very close o $20,000 with in and out flights. I will sign up for one at that price tomorrow. Thanks I will be waiting for the contacts. Larry

Heed Saeeds note about the "additional" cost for one of those exceptional bulls. When your $15,000 hunt becomes $25,000 plus and your trophy is somewhat less than what you thought you should come home with....you might be crying into your vodka. I have a friend that booked one of those well publicized "huge" brown bear hunts you always see....and maybe there are some large ones there...but his was not one of them. I seen larger inland grizzlies in the states...and so did he. Not only did he not get what he was sold....but he practically froze and starved to death...and that was just a few years ago so I can't imagine such a backward country changed much. He was just another one lured by the glitter and it surprised me greatly as he is such a successful and quite wealthy business man. I guess anyone can be snowed. I was at the Harrisburg show the past 2 years and you could get some very good deals there on alaskan moose hunts, with top notch outfitters for < $15,000 and zero unknown additional costs. Tell the ruskie you ain't paying extra...see where it lands ya. Perhaps this is a good deal, I am just stating buyer beware....lots of nonsense going on in the land of the hammer&sickle.

i have a few clients, that reccomend arjun's services highly, if he says that the hunt is on the up and up, it is in my book.
yes but just as well as in the states, remember ray's offer , yes russia can be a bit rustic but that is why you can still get the big trophy's without the fences and the artificial feeding, live a little. arjun had nothing to do with your friends mishap, so please just leave it at that. best regards peter

Booking agents and outfitters can promise any size moose and there is a lot of BS to be found out there - especially is countries like Russia where finding any verifiable facts are difficult. When a big animal is killed somewhere - and that "Russian" bull is a real dandy - outfitters all to often are quick to show them off and folks wanting one just like it are usually quick to book - not thinking that that animal is already gone. I'm always suspicious when a pic shows the hunter/guide about 10 feet behind the animal. I'd be curious to know what is the antler spread and BC score on the two bulls pictured. The advertiser didn't mention that. They are nice bulls.

Ladies and Gentleman, I have made no wild claims about the size of Moose that you can shoot with us in my offer. The fact is that the Chukotka moose species is arguably the largest species of moose in the world with the largest set of antlers. If you click on the link in my original offer you will see additional photos, some of these photos are with antlers and skulls which should give you a good idea of the size of these animals. Our hunters have taken moose from 55 to 70"+. Last year the two largest were 71", with others in the mid to high 60s. Our success rate is over 85%. These are 100% wild hunts and weather conditions and the hunter's physical abilities have a large part to play. As I mentioned in my original post, IF a hunter is seeking a trophy in the top end, the outfitter has the ability to arrange a hunt in a very remote areas with minimal hunting pressure where the likelyhood of shooting a real monster is greater, this however does not imply that there are 70" Moose standing under every tree there either! This is no different a concept to hunting for any animal in an area which sees little or no hunting pressure. Again the cost of such a hunt depends upon different factors at the time, most importantly being the number of hunters who will share the cost of air charter and other special arrangements that need to be made to access and hunt in those regions. I have spoken to the outfitter and to make it very fair to the hunter, he has agreed to offer a refund of 3.000 euros IF the hunter does not fire his gun at a moose. This is not a trophy fee in the African context so please do not compare the two. Thank you for considering this hunt. Arjun Reddy www.huntersnetworks.com tel (NY): 1 914 310 4902

About 20 years ago there were 70" moose up on the Kelly river north of the Noatak in Alaska and Seagull creek. Probably in many other areas as well. I was in my late 20's and early 30's. I did the hunts myself with a good friend and floated these streams in rafts and hunted along the way. Grand total of about $3K ($1000.00 to Kotzebue and back, $1000.00 for the bush plane, $700.00 for tags, $300.00 for misc.) but I had a strong back and legs in those days. Killed some nice bulls. Not for amatuers or the faint of heart! Desolate country.

Guys, Its an ad. Arjun has disclosed all the details. It certainly sounds like a great hunt for the adventure if nothing else. Also the price for the hunt is not out of line for what you'll pay in Alaska. My outfitters there charges $12,500 and $15,000 and are far from the most expensive. Check out the pricing in Yukon! Gulp! To answer the question about Alaska moose they do get very big. I'm not sure genetically how they compare to the Russian variety but it is possible to take a 70 inch moose in Alaska but a reasonable expectation would be high 50's to low 60's depending on the area. It sure sounds like an interesting hunt and I understand they have - or at least the potential for - just as big of moose as Alaska and the Yukon. The guaranteed shot or part of your money back is and interesting twist but I have seen both Tajik and Turkish guides insist that clients take difficult 500 to 700 yard shots in order to be able to say that the client missed and to avoid reimbursing any money. A more honest way - especialy in Russian countries - is to price the hunt lower with an addition fee due if the client draws blood. Phil, Good point but we do not expect a client to snipe away at a moose at 500 yards, most of his clients are european huntesr and they enjoy the stalking aspect of the hunt. But what if say the client misses the moose at 150 yards! It happens and I am sure you have seen it done! At what point do you draw the line. Most outfitters don't offer a refund even when an animal is not seen on the hunt. Regards, Arjun

Remember, the refund is if the hunter "does not fire his gun at a moose". Sounds to me like the hunter is in control. "There are worse memorials to a life well-lived than a pair of elephant tusks." Robert Ruark

Arjun, you are certainly correct that most hunts do not offer any type refund and you are to be commended for doing so. Contracts after all are only as good as the folks who are in them. The one good thing about such a deal is that it might keep folks from taking risky long shots. Let me know how the hunts work out and I'd love to see the photos of huge moose. Sounds like a cool hunt. Good luck in selling it. That said if your in a position to consider paying that much money for a hunt you should be well versed in checking prices, areas guides ect. Doesn't seem like a hunt for some one that does not know what they are doing. And if you do not do the proper checking The old saying is "A fool and his money are soon parted."
