Eden Hunting and Tourism has one "Own-Use" ele still on quota on the NaJaqna Conservancy in Bushmanland. This is a real elephant hunt in all respects. You'll just not take home a big tusker but your not paying for a big trophy bull either. In fact the price is equivalent to a good 10 day buffalo hunt in Zim. Late dates in November once the first rains have started is the recommended time to do this hunt. Bulldog, In Namibia "Own Use" is basically a non-trophy elephant bull with ivory of less than 40# and none of it is exportable. Mark MARK H. "own use" also refers to the licence is given to the local people to use the elephant as they see fit. Thats why all of these hunts will be a broken tusk, one tusk or small bull. Most outfits have it set up where a in country taxidermist will make you a replica of your tusk. I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

I have taken two "own use" elephants in Namibia and the experience is every bit the same as a trophy elephant hunt but at a discounted rate. I enjoyed the experience very much. We seldom get to choose But I've seen them go both ways And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory Than to slowly rot away!
