HILARY DAFFI SAFARI’S
7 DAY CAPE BUFFALO & PLAINS GAME HUNT
MASAILAND, TANZANIA

Tanzania, The Ultimate Safari Destination

Hilary Daffi Safari’s is pleased to offer a 2 x 1 traditional tented East African Safari. We our offering a 2 x 1, 7 day Cape Buffalo & plains game hunt for $13,000 per person. This 2 x 1 hunt includes trophy fees for Cape Buffalo, Impala, White Bearded Gnu (White Bearded Wildebeest), Zebra, Steinbuck and Grant’s Gazelle. This offer extends for the remainder of the 2015 season (ends December 31) and is offered for the 2016 season which is July 1 through December 31. Hilary Daffi Safaris is offering only five of these 2 x 1 hunts per year.

Included in the $13,000 price tag per person are all government fees (license, conservation fee and trophy handling fee) trophy fees for 1 Cape Buffalo, 1 Impala, 1 White Bearded Wildebeest, 1 Zebra, 1 Steinbuck, and 1 Grant Gazelle. (the trophy fees alone for these five species amounts to $5,665!!!) All ground transportation to and from Arusha, meet and greet at Kilimanjaro Airport, services of 1 PH, tracker, skinner, driver, camp staff, meals in camp, camp lodging, laundry, trophy preparation. This is a traditional tented safari. There are six tents with en-suite bathroom.

THERE ARE NO HIDDEN FEES

Additional plains game are available for additional fees. There are good population of Greater Kudu, Lesser Kudu, Duiker, Dik Dik, and Ostrich available year round. Other species available but not populous are Coke’s Hartebeest, Thompson Gazelle, Fringed Ear Oryx, and Eland.

Simanjiro hosts excellent population of wildlife due to game management and anti-poaching patrols. We only hunt for dugga boy Cape Buffalo and as of September,2015, three dugga boys in excess of 40 inches have been taken, one of which was estimated to be 17 to 18 years old. The plains game species, Impala, White Bearded Wildebeest, Zebra, Steinbuck and Grant Gazelle are very plentiful. It is only in Maasai land that Grant’s Gazelle, White Bearded Wildebeest are found and are trophies that if you don’t have now you will want to have.

Located in Maasai land in Northern Tanzania, the 1,300 Square Kilometer Simanjiro Concession is a mix of Miombo woodlands, savannah and kopje. The semi nomadic Maasai and their livestock have populated the area for millennia. You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with these wonderful people. It is not unusual to observe wildebeest and zebra grazing alongside the Maasai livestock.

To hunt Cape Buffalo successfully in Simanjiro the individual must be in good physical condition capable of walking long distances over some rough terrain.

RIFLES:

375 caliber and larger are required for Cape Buffalo. 270 Winchester and larger for plains game. Hilary Daffi Safaris has for rent, right and left handed 375 H&H, left hand 458 Lott, Left Hand 30-06, and right hand 270.
Rifle rent is $50 per rifle per day plus ammunition.
These rifles are all in good condition mounted with Leupold Scopes.

NOT INCLUDED
International airfare to and from Kilimanjaro Airport, Lodging and Meals in Arusha, Gratuities, Dip and Pack, Trophy Shipment, any taxes that may apply both in Tanzania and home country such as the USA.

PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A 50%, non-refundable deposit is due upon signing and the balance paid in full 30 days before the hunt start date. Lost and wounded animals are charged full trophy fee price. All terms and conditions are set forth in the hunt contract. Booking arrangements are made through Back of Beyond, LLC in behalf of Hilary Daffi Safaris. Prices subject to change due to government law and regulations. To the maximum extent possible clients will be advised ahead of time should price change occur as a result of government law and regulation. ( i.e. change in license fee.) Hilary Daffi Safaris and Back of Beyond, LLC are not responsible for events beyond their control with respect to trophy shipment and delivery to final destination, once trophies are shipped. It is highly recommended to have trophy shipment insured.

Is it possible to add additional days? Also, details on non hunting observers. AKA wife. I'll add that she is much more interesting than myself, makes a good campfire companion.

With the hunt 2x1, is that one buffalo per person or one per 2x1 hunt? Do you mix hunters if they come by themselves? If I hunted 1x1 what would the price be?

Looking to hear back from Tim on some of the questions. Someone tell me what I'm missing here. Seems like too good to be true , and you know what that usually means. If legit, I'm looking for a partner in 2016.

I am going to try to answer a few questions. Right now I am in Arusha and will be traveling the next few days.
I can assure everything is legit. I am happy to post hunting pictures if I can develop the ability to post on this site. If you wish to email me personally, please email me at timvining@msn.com. I can manage to send some pics on my email. Glad to provide you all with references as well.
We only hunt during the hunting season from July 1 to Dec 31.
Both hunters hunt five animals, so there is no splitting the bag. We are doing this hunt basically at cost. Additional animals will be more costly than the normal trophy fee list as we have to pay the government additional license fees, conservation fees, and trophy fees. In addition we must make some money on the trophy fee.
Please do not hesitate to contact me personally by phone or email or Hillary Daffi at the posted numbers.
Hillary can be reached via email at
marerasafaris@gmail.

If you friend me on facebook, You will see a pic of me and the buff I shot last week in Simanjiro. He was a grand old dugga boy.

Sorry I missed a couple of questions:
Non-observer fee is $300 per day on this hunt.

Our one on one hunt is $25,000. Why such a big difference then the 2 x 1 hunt-- Government fees.

Tim, can you list all of the PG trophy fees?
Also you said that each hunter hunts five animals but I presume you meant six, as there are six listed in the OP it seems?

Cheers and thanks

Seems like a great offer, especially for Tanzania.... So what are the odds of both hunters taking the 12 animals between them in 7 days of hunting? Seems a little rushed.... Are extra days available? How much? Thanks bruce

The likelihood of bagging these trophies for both clients within the time frame is excellent. More than likely you will have the opportunity to bag impala, wildebeest, grants gazelle and zebra in one day. Cape buff 1 to 3 days. On Sept 1, I bagged cape buff, impala, wildebeest and dik dik.

Is there any firearm/ammo temporary import fee in Tanzania for a client bringing his own, versus using safari company guns?

I am interested in this hunt but do not have a second hunter available. If anyone else is in the same situation let me know. We can exchange resumes and determine if we want to hunt dangerous game together. Btw-I like to take my Buffaloes with a .223.

For Jackal Hunter:
Yes we charge a flat $250 for rifles and ammo brought into Tanzania. We take care of the Government fees and paper work for that amount.

Tim,

This is a great place, I've been there, which is why I asked if it was available in March. That is a great time of year. Buffalo and lion everywhere, pouring out of the park in March, if you can deal with the thunderstorms, hail, getting stuck, etc. Unfortunately, this time of year is apparently not available.

Tim is right about the plains game. You will have the opportunity to take a zebra, wildebeest and a Grants, as well as an impala. Doubt you will do it in a day, however, if you are selective at all. Zebras are easy here, though, unlike anywhere else I've hunted them. There are some really nice impala, but you have to work for them a bit.

Some additional questions
1. what is the time duration of drive from Arusha airport to camp in Simanjiro concession?
2. Exactly how many full days of hunting are included in your Buf & plains game special?
3. does Back of Beyond LLC have a website?
Thanks.
